I can see this blowing up with a big back and forth competition. My only thing is why would you want to have a JR TX and use a Futaba RX?? If you wanted to do that you should just buy a Futaba TX in the first place! JMHO
But thinks for posting this very cool to see what comes out! Thanks Kyle |

Hum seems a bit too late for the market.
Anybody that wanted to get more use out of their module equipped 72 transmitter has probably long since purchased the spektrum conversion module or bought a native 2.4 transmitter from Futaba or JR. As he said how many people are going to buy the tx from one company and the module and receivers from the other? Perhaps if you really really hated satellite receivers. Maybe I'm wrong? IMO, FHSS is a much better than what JR came out with. Those JR users still on the fence, may find this more appealing than the RX with multiple satellite setups.

why will JR folks be eating that up? Seems like most current JR folks have already switched to a current 2.4 system. I, myself switched to JR from Futaba last year. Besides, the Futaba module probably isn't 2048...(which is why I bought a 9303 instead of a 10C)

If I hadn't already upgraded my 10x to the FHSS offering from Weatronic, I would be all over this. I didn't post this to get another radio war started, but it's big news, they will sell a lot of them.

That's strange, the 10C is definitely 2048 resolution when running 8 channel and higher receivers. Your X9303 is 2048 only with 9 channel receivers, not with an AR7000, same as the 10C when running 7 channel or less receivers.
![]() I fly both FASST for my glow and gas powered models and Spektrum for my parkfliers. AR6100 finally bit me earlier today, not a brownout (V1.6 light was not blinking) just an uncommanded pitch down at about 80' altitude and no elevator all the way down at about a 60dg down line into the hay field. Range at the time of lockout was barely 200'. My nice little Spad looks kinda sad ![]() Since Futaba came out with viable parkflier receivers I'm selling the Spektrum receivers, I'll keep the module just for the Vapor ![]() Pete

Back when I bought my 9303, the 10C's shipping date had been pushed back a few times and was advertised as 1024. I even called Futaba to verify this. They told me that it was 1024 and there were no plans to have a 2048 version. So, I ordered a 9303 and a bunch of recievers. When it comes to the recievers, I don't really care about 2048 or 1024 in anything less than a 9 channel reciever. I knew this before I bought it, and I've been perfectly happy with it. I'm not saying I'm a JR for life guy, but at this time, I see no reason to switch my stuff over to Futaba.
Can Futaba recievers handle 7.4 volts? (just wondering, I have no idea)

I accidentally ran my 14 ch FASST Rx at 8.4 volts for over a dozen flights... I have that Rx in my 40% Su29 now..... 250 flights later... still works great.....
Seriously.. we live in great times... there is a lot of reasonably priced high technology equipment of unprecedented reliability they didn't have 30 years ago... this was all a dream 30 years ago!! |

I'm glad to hear that. If I end up using Futaba in my planes again, I won't have to change anything other than a reciever...

Let's see: I have a two year old 10X with a bazillion 9 & 10 channel 72 mhz. receivers.... I have thought real hard about getting a 2.4 module to put on the 10X...... I do have seven 2.4 receivers and a Spectrum 6XI Transmitter. Now then........ What I really want to do is rush right out and get me a 2.4 transmitter module to go in my JR 10X transmitter that drives Futaba receivers! (NOT!) To top it off, I read on here something about Futaba receivers have some sort of heat issues...... Man I gotta go out and buy me a known defect today..... It's what I really WANT to do!
