Hey Guys,
Now that the season is officially over (sniff, sniff) it is time to start planning for next year. It is my hope to have another "Off the Hook" contest next year. This year I scaled some things down but I am going to ramp it up for next year and I want your suggestions on something...... A Three Day Contest!!!! Yes, that's right! 3 days..... What would that look like? Well let me tell you what I am thinking. Friday 9:00am Open Practice 11:45am Pilots Meeting 12:00pm Round One (2 sequences, all Casses) 3:30pm Round Two (2 sequences, all Classes) 7:00pm Open Field Saturday 8:30am Pilots Meeting 9:00am Round Three Unknown (2 known sequences for Basic) 11:00am Round Four (2 sequences, all Classes) 2:30pm Round Five (2 sequences, all classes) 6:00pm Freestyle Contest Sunday 8:30am Round Six Unknown (2 known sequences for Basic) 10:30am Round Seven (2 sequences, all classes) 2:00pm Awards What would this mean for you?..... More flying, more fun, A Great Father's Day Present if I could ever think of one...... Yes, that is right this is Father's Day weekend. Yes you would have to call off work on Friday. There would be a total of 10 known sequences (Dropping 3) and 2 unknowns (Dropping none) What do you think? All comments are welcome. This is just an Idea, not set in stone. Right now it is still going as a two day event, but this is what I want to do to make it worth-while. Some of you drive 5-6hrs+ and I want you to maximize your time of flying, and time spent with good friends.... Tell me? Ric

Would this still count towards regional points?

Ric, not trying to bust your bubble at all, in fact we have been talking about doing it at the Crossroads IMAC. I personally am not in favor of 3 day events, but that is me. I may have to end up doing it at the Xroads, but I am going to try and make more IMAC events next year and when you go to several just remember that is one more day away from the family. I know lots of guys have the luxury of showing up Friday and get home whenever Sunday, I am not in that category and either are several others.
I agree more flying sounds appealing, but I prefer to stop the contest as soon as I get in first place. ......OK seriously, best of luck on whatever you decide.Jeff Williams

Ryan,
Yes it would count towards Reginal points. The contest would follow all guidlines required by IMAC. Jeff, I totally understand the Family thing. I delt with that issue this season by attending the seven contest this season. my wifey was not real pleased for a couple. However, this is a Fathers day request weekend.... Plus Cincy is a great place to bring the Fam along with you. There are lots of things to do while you fly. Kings Island, Newport Aquarium, Malls, Resturants, Big Red Machine.... Make it a Family event.... James, XFC has been the weekend before for the last 4 years, it certainly effects us but not too much.... This is always good practice contest for the Nats too.... Again it is just a possibility, there will always be pro's and con's. Just wanting feedback... Thanks, Ric

I like it more flying is more fun. The only thing is I personaly have school year round so i guess skipping one day of school isn't too bad(ie deffantly a good idea). Defanatly would be interesting to see it work out.
