Hey Tom,

I see you are from Spring Hill. Do you fly with the Bay City guys? They are a good group and do a lot of IMAC. Will you be going to the SE season opener?

Hey Kevin I fly at both Can-am and Bay city. I know the guys that fly IMAC out of bay city but dont really fly with them. We seem to fly at diffrent times during the week. I will be at the Season opener which will be my first contest and I am stoked. I just maidened my plane I am going to be flying IMAC with, so I need to start flying the squence now. If you are coming to the Opener stop by the Plane Addicts booth at the event and say hi. That is most likely where you will find me if im not up to fly.

Tom

1. Find a good coach, preferrably someone from an upper class. He will help you learn the manuevers and most importantly trim your plane. It will reduce your work load and make your plane more enjoyable to fly.

2. Read the rule book. Your idea of how a manuever should be judged WILL differ from the book...trust me on that one.

3. Burn lots and fuel and have lots of fun practicing. If you are not having fun then its time to move on to something else.
4. At the contest introduce yourself to everyone. These are some of the best people on the earth and you will make alot of friends who in turn will help you feel more comfortable.
5. Scribe for the judges. You will learn so much about what judges look for and you will also hear how different callers work.
6. Don't rely on one caller (thats where the introducing thing comes into play!!)

7. Don't worry about winning. If you are having fun, you already won!!!!
What a great post Mike. And congratulations on your First Place at the EVA Contest. I would say keep doing what you're doing because your formula is working perfectly. Hope to see you out at Rittenhouse during the week sometime.

ok i read all those "aresti made simple" and "aresti dictionary" and a bunch of other good aresti stuff and i pretty much understand the 2010 basic sequence except for 2 things.

1. is the first manover a slow roll and how do you know the speed to roll by looking at the diagram???

2. what is a spin??? is it just an aileron roll on a down line and can somone explain the last manover???

3. this is kind of a stupid question that i kinda already know the answer to but i just wana be shure.
are all the moves supposed to be back to back with a short level flight in between them???

louu the roll is any roll in any direction. left or right. you are not judged by speed but a slower roll is better but the plane must stay on the same line from enter to exit.

the spins are probably the most controversal thing to do and judge because everyone has there own opinion on how it looks. but if you read the description you will fly a horizontal line and cut throttle. now you want to keep the same line and wind correct with rudder. as the plane slows you will feed elevator to keep it level. at some point the plane with either drop a wing or just nose over. if it drops a wing aileron in that direction and feed in rudder and elevator to give it a autorotation. wayne has a video on this and it is better to watch than have me explain. and yes there will be a line between manuverse showing that your manuver was done.

A spin is a stall maneuver from level. You go to idle and keep raising the nose until the plane stalls and at the very second it should drop a wing so you add rudder and aileron into the direction of the wing dropping and hold elevator the hole time

You release everything so that you stop at the required number of turns

This thread has a video of all the 2010 sequences

Should help you a lot

i wish it was a flat spin. i love them especially inverted. but no the nose is pointed down and the tail will rotate oblongish????? watch the video. i think you will get a better idea. the best thing is find someone that flys imac around you and have him help you out. or just go to some events. i garantee you someone will help you and even give you pointers when you fly.
