My Cartoon Box Plane!

ok... Ill explain.. My club is having a night fly event octorber 10th.. and part of this event is what we call the 'frankenplane' contest. so we all build simple foamies and put lights on it and hope it flys.. simple enough.. I went to the craft store and picked up a 20x30 inch foam board and slaped a motor on it.. well thats a bit plain.. soo having alot of graphic art supplies I decided to go nutz and put cartoons on it..never knew wiley was into RC ... the next one will be a bit more themed so ideas are welcome... but this one is going to be fun, let me know what you thinks.

wow, nothing,,, plane is ready for test flights, lights in tomarrow. This is a nice break from the think ahead big cost gasser i normally fly, so the break is nice, besides you cant fly big planes all the time.

What about cutting the wings to further enhance the appearance ? e.g your vulture....or is that a budgie?...no matter..make the wing ruffled feather like.

Ooh ooh I got another idea....make a bat with the card cut like bat wings.

good i need ideas!.. I was thinking about doing a bigger one thats a silioette of a pheridactile, or making one to look like a Tie fight on starwars.. the simple foamy planes have endless possiblities.. if you have a idea and want art work let me know.. this one will be flown mostly at night once the lights get here. so i want to keep the surface area as big as possible to handle the extra weight.. this winter i hope to build a internal prop UFO for hovering in the gym.

Im open for ideas, or i can draw layouts for others,

if you had some lightweight eleccy gizmo that could switch the lights on and off in sync a UFO with the appearance of a rotating ring around its circumference would be sweet.

I made ......um an attempt at a UFO with a glow engine in the center and prop spinning inside like a donut with ducts for ailerons and elevators it flew .........sort of.....was a mother to handle though..I guess a heli pilot would have mastered it but was too hard for me. Ended up dropping from 10 feet onto the ground when I flipped it too much and rolled away at full speed with the engine off. That ended that particular development chapter in my life

fun projects, I have wanted to try a helium assisted ufo for awhile, and may try it this winter for gym flying and use the vapor rx gear haha. i got big plans but no time haha.. i should see my new pz bf-109 next week once its released.. got the lights today, need to make connector.

alright! support from mr wile him self hahah.. lights on, i have a strobe stick on the bottom. and lights onthe wheels not on inthe photo.
I am running the elfite 450 for the 1300 mah 3cell, and the lights on a 1100 2 cell. hope it flys haha. testing tomarrow. the cg is guest.. first takeoff will be fun
