Default North Central Regional Finals

This past weekend the North Central Regional IMAC Finals were held in Wheeler IL.

Shane Quale and Wayne Geffon kept FG updated on the North Central Regional Finals thread located here: CLICK HERE

Shane Quale writes:

Good Day FG Members,

Today in Wheeler, IN the North Central IMAC Regional Championship is underway. Pilots were rolling in around 7:00 A.M this morning with fog on the field and beautiful weather scheduled ahead. With 58 pilots registered for show this weekend, this one is going to be off the hook. Noon time today there were Vans, Campers, Trailers, and RV's everywhere. Some awesome pilots have came for this competition to fly this weekend to include Mike McConville, Wayne Geffon, Larry Arseneau, and Robert Klein plus many more amazing pilots. This afternoon we had one mishap with a mid-air between Craig Korener and Mike Roxberry unfortuneately and I am sure they will chime in on such a sad sight. We now move on to fly and to beautiful weather for the weekend. So....Lew Sheffield (Contest Director)is doing such a great job on this weekends competition and has put a lot of time and mind with others to help make this happen. Saturday night has a scheduled pig roast around 6:30 in the evening with some beverages involved. Come on out enjoy the fun, eat some pig, shoot the poop, and enjoy the beautiflu weekend. Stay tuned for pics as they will be updated daily.

It's great to see that IMAC is strong, and to see the amazing IMAC planes these guys have.
From the reports it looks like this was a top notch event all the way around!

Nice job guys!

the headline picture goes to show how the people are at these imac events. ben batts engine broke the mount plate causing the motor to almost break free from the plane. ben,his dad and i was working on it and beleive it or not someone had a back plate with them and let him use it. some people offered tools to use to make the repair. about 15min later the plane was fixed and ben was ready to make is flight. goes to show you how people are alway willing to help out when you are in need. even if you are flying against them.

competition is never any fun if you are all alone. It's all part of the brotherhood of having toy airplanes in your blood.

Its is a blown up version of my H9 SU-26mm. ALmost a straight blow up with a very slight additional tweak to the fuse length. Its 122" span, 2775 squares. 39.4 lbs with DA-170 & RE3 pipes.

Its my own model, just something I really wanted to do. I have to say, IMHO it flies absolutely amazing!

Glad I could help Ben out. Actually I had 2 spare back plates.
