Default 9c with spektrum module

Had a bad thing happen this weekend. Flying a 148" B17 with a 9c and a spektrum module. The aircraft hook hard left and headed down quick, no control, luckily got control back and landed without a problem. So far i can't find a problem. Voltage is good and everything works fine know.

Glad you got it back.

Which receiver and what's the battery setup in detail?

did you run a data logger on it. it is a good point of reference to figure out what is going on with the reciever. what i would do is turn everything on on the ground and see what the failsafe controls do, buy turning off transmitter. if it goes in the direction of flight that had happened it might have been some sort of issue. if not sounds like loose wiring or something. hope you figure it out.

The spektrum module in my 9C was a loose fit. I noticed that sometimes when i put the TX down with it on that the servos would jump. Turns out the loose module was causing intermittent connection with the pins in the Tx. This only happened to me on the ground, so no big deal. I fixed it by using some double sided tape on the back of the module, just enough to preload the plastic clips to hold it in and it works very reliably now. Probably not an option if you like to remove and repace modules regularly though.

You know I have the same module and I noticed that the fit wasn't very snug...that you could back the module out a tiny bit. It always bugged me (being an electrical engneer, you know it bugged me..lol). I just thought that I was worrying too much but apparently I wasn't. I'll have to do the same thing to mine. I never change except in the winter when I fly foamies in the golf dome.

Well the rattly module was annoying, but the intermittent contact was alarming! Must be something in us "engineers" hey...

Not so much off subject, but with a diff. Tx system. A buddy of mine has the DSM2 in a JR 8103. A very loose fit is there!!! So much of a loose fit, that on the ground, the airplane or heli wouldn't "catch" the Tx signal for freq.

On the opposite hand........ My 10X has been ROCK SOLID!!! My module is a TIGHT fit, and no wobbles. But rest assured, if I get a little wobble in the module, I will be fixing it!!!

I'm a EET by schooling, but turned MT (mechanical tech) by trade!!!!

Don't have a data log reader, yet but a member of my club has one. I'll be borrowing his before i fly again. Batteries a switches test good, twin switches and twin Nimah batteries. I did find a loose module in the 9c transmitter, i have 2 set up the same way and both are loose. I will be using your tape recommendation on both systems. Thanks.

you guys arn,t very good electrical engineers if you noticed the module had some slop in the fit and you didn,t fix it before flying. just a l ittle bit of cardboard packing to each side of the tx module and it becomes as snug as a bug in a rug.
