Elevator recessed hinge. You can see the servo mount cut out in the stab. Check out the crazy amount of throw possible for the elevator. More pics comming but I have to remove the gear from another plane to keep going.

Nice pics Rick! but your gear are on backwards
When you mount the engine, use standoffs that will put the face of the hub about an inch forward of the cowl. It will greatly improve effective thrust, and you'll need it there for CG purposes.

Yup, I have a 150-170cc plane being finished now. I only have (6) arriving in the first batch (december) but more will be available in early 2010. There are no 150cc Yak's spoken for except for the one I am taking.

The wing span is 118" on the new airplane. Some people have questioned the fact that the WS on these are a little small for the engine size..... this is true. One thing most people are not taking into account though is that the 'real' Yak 55M is a huge airplane and when you scale and airplane it is done based on wing span. On the 50cc and 100cc Yak, the WS is a little on the small size when compared to other manufacturers planes but when you take into account the size of the fueslage the plane will be the right size needed to perform well. While the wing span may be a little short it does have a much wider cord and will equal out in wing area. The shorter span will also help in roll rate for all you 3D'ers out there looking for a nice 'apha roller' plane. The knife edge capabilities are incredible and on my 275cc Yak, I am only using 3 standard 200 ounce servos for power. On the 150cc plane I am sure only 2 servos on the rudder will be needed.

I am telling you guys: These Yak55 planes ROCK!! OMG, they are fantastic flyers!

I got to see my dad's new Hempel Yak 50cc and the thing is super clean. I'm going to kill my current yak here pretty soon in hopes of getting the wife's permission to get this plane. Love the hinges and the overall construction of this arf! Get it together Dad!

Bill
What´s the price for a 150cc version.
Is it possible to maybee send one to Sweden?
I´m out looking now for changing my Aeroworks 100cc YAK 54 to a 150cc plane of some kind.
I know the Krill YAK55M is a great flyer, one of my friends have one.

I saw the first of the 100cc BH 55M's fly the other day. Uneventful and seemed to fly just fine. The owner used dual 5200's and no attempts to lighten the plane and it came out to 26.7 pounds with a 100L. Not bad.
He didn't space his prop hub forward like you should(only like 1/4 inch spacing) and had a little bit of trouble getting it to balance. So I will definitely be spacing my engine as forward as possible. It did, however, act noseheavy on the maiden so it probably will balance just fine.

Here are a few more pics. You can see the new hole drilled into the Du-Bro arm to get the pivot point on the hinge line.Notice the brass bushings on the hinge holes in the wing.
