It wouldn't surprise me that the wingspan was shorter, since it is a model of the 55M (which means shorter wing than the 55) it was designed to increase the roll rate of the 55. One other thing, they also dropped the spinner from the plane when they made the 55M, so my question about spinner sizes is no longer valid, I'm not going to put one on.

Since nobody seems to know what the wing span is, I assume that nobody is sure of the wing area either? That would be nice to know too.

![]() What ever the real deal is on these, the planes fly very well with the current wing loading. Last Sunday I flew a 50cc plane with Nicad batteries and no effort for weight reduction, it was 17.2 pounds, flew great!! Give me a couple hours and I will measure mine! Thanks, BH |

I'm sorry if I sounded impatient, that was definately not my intention, simply curious. Also, I'm sorry if it sounded like I was, but I was definately not questioning the performance of these little beauties. I was just reading the latest posts and the question of wing area crossed my mind, thats all. I'm just so excited about getting one that I'm trying to absorb as much info as possible to feed the addiction.

As for the wingspan, I think Extplt is right - 88" for the 50cc.

Mr. Hempel,
Saw your other post that the container is on the way, WOOHOO! If my math is right, transit time to the port, 2-weeks on the water, 1-week through customs, plus transit time to you from the port, that would mean we could start seeing shipments about mid-Jan? Not complaining, just planning for when my bench needs to be cleared by. Actually end of Jan - beginning of Feb would be better for me, but I will take them when you can send them! There will also be some lost time around the holidays, that and your day job (quite frankly we would all support your decision to quit that and just do the planes thing, we'll explain it to your family for you, it is for the greater good after all). I just can't wait!

Customs likes to open boxs just as much as the next guy, so dont forget to factor that in. My plane was held back 2 weeks because of this, but its well worth the wait. |
