I've heard that too. Makes the prop more efficient I think. I plan on spacing my engine out when I get my 110" Yak going...

I will know more after I get the plane done, but an 85/pipe should be no problem. I plan to extend the prop hub to about 1.5" forward of the cowl for improved thrust, and another benefit is more weight up front. It's just a guess at this point but I think it could balance fairly easily with the 85.
I earned a DA-85 at the TAS and am hoping to trade up for the 100 next week and will start to assemble this bird - can't wait!

They are still in prototype stage. It will likely be 2010 by the time more show up, but that's Billy's deal.

I have more planes being built right now and are scheduled to be here in the US by the end of the year. Pricing looks to be roughly $500.00 for the 50cc and $900.00 for the 100cc. Prices may vary but this is what I am aiming for!

Are those prices with carbon wing and stab tubes and gear?

Carbon tubes... yes.

Carbon gear.... No..

This is the target price right now. Hopefully I can keep it there but if I have to change it it wont be by much $$.

Sweet. I saw this plane last week when I was out for the Shootout and it is a sweet looking machine. I think I am in need of a 40% version.

I'm going to post some pics of my Bill Hempel 50cc YAK in progress. Some great pics by bodywerks so i'll just add to these. Hope you enjoy. So far a great plane.The first pics show the size of the shipping boxes. Double boxed, no damage.

Check out the polished main gear. All sub assembly hardware bagged and labled. Everything fits so far.

Here are pics of the rudder hinge system and the tail wheel installed. Little brass strap is retaining rudder carbon fiber hinge rod.
