Hi guys

A little progress today the can formers are cut and fitted, because I am using a rear exhaust can and for access to the undercarriage bolts I have made the rear former fixed and the front can former removable.

Hi

I have just been trial fitting the engine, and came across a slight problem, with the ZDZ 80RV-J fitted inverted the side of the cylinder was touching the cowl, this was due to the offset due to the inbuilt right thrust.

The simplest solution I could find was to rotate the slightly anticlockwise to move the cylinder slightly to the left.

This has now been done and I am happy with the spinner/cowl alignment

Just decided to get one myself, electric with Neu 2215/1.5Y on 12s. JR 8711HV servos and EM batteries of course for max power. Should be a monster.

Hi Gugs

I am using the ZDZ80RV-J for the Sbach not the standard ZDZ 80rv

In the USA you call the RV-J the super 80

I have personally built and flown the Pilot 35% 260, Aeroworks 35% 260, hangar 9 35% 260, Pacific planes 35% 260 and QQ 102" yak on this engine and all have performed as well if not better than 100cc engines (of any manufacturer) in these models

In short yes this engine will have plenty of power for the 35% pilot Sbach, as soon as the model has flown I will post a video

Do you have the means to accurately weight the airplane and if so, will you be posting the all up weight?

Hi Iain. Congrats on the new model. Can you do a small favor though? Can you take some shots of the model inside and maybe in the wing if possible so we can see how the build quality is like. Be even better if you could weigh each part and let us know what it comes out at but no probs if you cant.

You think it will balance ok with a lil ole 80? You wont get a H9 260 to balance on a DA85 without some work. Maybe the ZDZ's are heavier huh??

Hi

i will get some more shots of the model and constuction of internalls with weights etc later as the build continues.

For the H9 260 I made a new rudder servo mounting system and moved the rudder servo to the canopy area on the model which helped a lot, batteries on the side of the engine box and everything else in front of the CG the model balanced with no problem with the ZDZ 80rv-j

I have a couple of problems at present,

1 I was building an 80cc Black hunter scheme Pilot 260 fitted with a standard ZDZ 80 but I was waiting on servos, so I started on the Sbach, but now the servos have arrived what do I do Sbach or 260??

2 I am also building a pilot 47% Decathalon and was waiting on the engine which was to be either an electric start ZDZ 210, then I was told of a new ZDZ 320cc 4 cylinder, which way do I go? the 320cc will not be in general release for a while so I have decided on the new ZDZ 210RV-J (a new improved mor powerfull 210, similar to comparing the standard ZDZ 80RV and the ZDZ 80RV-J) which is being shipped from ZDZ to me on Friday this week, and as I was waiting on more servos for the Sbach (from a different supplier) I was going to borrow some hitec 7955 servos from the Decathalon for the Sbach

Looks like I am going to be busy

A couple of pics of my Pilot Decathalon, the garage door is 11 foot by 7 foot just for an idea of scale
