Default What about 5945's on my Sbach 36%

I am getting one of the Sbachs from Pilot RC and am wondering if 5945's would be sufficient on the ailerons. I also have some 5985's I was thinking about for the elevators but now i'm nervous about even using them on a plane this size. Any suggestions? Thanks

2 x 5945 per aileron = 362oz at 6v
2 x 5985 per aileron = 344oz at 6v
either would be ok

Whats up ??? Those figures look right to me LOL

My Carden Cap 40% used to fly on just two 5945's per aileron and one per elevator half. I think you will be ok. A great servo and ones I had that were a few years old only needed a rebuild after many many years of use.

You'll be fine as long as there are 2 Ail. servos per wing half. I had the same setup in a 40% Carden Edge that had MANY hard flights on it and never had a problem. I eventually swapped them out for 5955's - after a few hundred flights, the gears were pretty warn. The gears lasted 4x as long as the 8611's I had originally had in a 40% Carden Cap.....

I wish Hitec would still make those servos and just bump the price down a bit. I used them in everything! Agreed - I had 8611A's after a season had slop vs. my 5945's that were like 3 seasons old with no slop!

Thanks for the information guys. I have decided to go with some 7955's just to cover my butt. Now I have 4 5945's and 1 5985 if anyone is interested.

Keep em.....prolly need them in the future.
If you use too small a servo on the ails you get blow back on a few moves like a full throttle snaps and it feels mushy. If your not planning on doing this type of violent move then what you have will be fine.
