Default 14 MZ Player Troubles

So i have been using my 14 mz player to listen to wma's that i downloaded from the internet. Recently i got a program that will let me convert my mp3's into wma files. I have done everything but the files i convert will not play. They act normal show up in the player. They load and the end time shows up but they will not start playing. I have compared them to the files that work and i can see no difference. Tried mono stereo etc etc etc. Anyone had this problem or can anyone shed some light on this.

I thought the 14mz played .wav files?? Not .wma

I could be wrong, but that's what I've read around and about.

The sound files for switches that can be recored directly into the radio are WAV files. The player uses WMA files. This is what i understand anyway.
