Default DX6i with SmartFly kill switch help

Whats up guys I need some help. I have a Dx6i and I'm tring to figure out how to make my flap switch on the control setup up as on or off. The Smartfly system came with an led light so I've pluged it into the reciever (gear and aux) and tried to get the light to go off with different settings. If anybody can point me in the right directions I'd really appreciate it. Thanks Brad

Default Re: DX6i with SmartFly kill switch help

I have the SF cutoff installed on a couple of my planes and I use a X9303 radio. I have mine slaved to the timer button, but with a long delay so I have to hold down on it for a couple of seconds before it cuts off the ignition. Be careful with an on-off switch. I had mine orginally assigned to a long handled switch and I kept bumping it with my fingers during flight. After a couple of deadsticks, I changed it. I don't know if you have that timer button on your DX6i.

I don't think plugging the red light directly into the receiver is the way to do it. Have everything hooked up and then plug the red light into the SF ignition cut-off receiver board. This is the way I do it.

You should be able to slave a certain channel to the switch you want to use.

Give Robert a shout at SmartFly. He may have had this question before. He has been very helpful to me in the past. Or maybe tech support at JR/Spektrum. They usually answer your question within 24 hrs.
