cant run the motor at all. it hit a road and broke the muffler clean off.
sorry if i miss lead with the title i was in no way shape or form trying to blame the fasst system. both dad and i flew the rest of the day on it including a 20% 41cc plane. switch might be a place to look i checked all connections after and all felt tight. its not a charge switch but knowing my tight ass dad it would only be a cheap switch . part of the problem was it was all still working fine upon finding the plane so if it was a lose wire it must have settled back into place |

When I first got my 6EX Fasst I put it in everything I had, including my prototype planes. The only issue I had was when my friend and I were flying the same plane and he went to do a snap but the plane didn't react the way it should have (it didn't snap). Not knowing, he finished the flight (contest round), came down and told me about it. I asked him to wiggle the sticks and when he did and you could see the servos were really slow. Turns out the battery was reading 3.8V under load. I asked him if he noticed it while he flew after the snap... his reply "the plane was so smooth, I didn't think anything of it"...lol. I asked him next time it was 'really smooth' to land. We fast charged the 4-cell pack and flew another 4 flights after that. 1.20 and under, 4-cells should be fine. I personally think it's just how many MH you're willing to carry around, but whatever you choose... make sure you have twice the best guess needed.

The battery tester we have is meant to be load teaster. after the flight it was holding a solid 5v we left it running for some time and it did not move at all. im not sure how much load it has but really how much current can 3 standard and 2 minis draw. the servos are nothing great and did not expect them to be able to draw enough to have an issue. my trainer is running 4 standard and a 4.8 volt battery and no problems yet. so does have me thinking more that it was a switch or wire problem

Probably need to find out what kind of tester it was as well.. If it doesn't add a significant load it isn't doing much for you.
On a smaller plane I use .5A, on larger planes I load at 1A for 10 seconds or so. I am using this one.. http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...?ProdID=HAN171 |

. My unit matches the readings on my Fluke 77 very closely. I really like the actual voltage being displayed, rather than a go/no go type of meter, makes you have to think a little ![]() Pete

This is a very similar issue I had on my spektrum it just lost power it didn't reboot or go into failsafe and it wasn't on a maiden flight I would get 2 or 3 flights in and then all of a sudden lock up I ended up getting rid of the radio after it had crashed another plane after being inspected by HH, I would look at a switch problem or maybe a battery problem if its a old nicad or nimh they can depleat rather fast and being only 1100mah doesn't leave a lot of room for error.

Haha! Didn't even realize how old the thread is until you pointed it out...... Whats funny is how many people fly off the handle on these kinds of threads, wether it be a JR or Futaba thread. Nothing wrong with either system, choose your drug and enjoy the trip.
