dude, you need to take a chill pill. Just because yout threads got locked doesn't mean that your input is not wanted..... Maybe you should take a look at how you posted your information, instead of what you posted....

I have to do that frequently....

Fly Bye
There have been others with similar problems and not all the threads have been locked. You also understand that a lot of people have already been there and got the t-shirt. You now have access to a huge amount of super information so it doesn’t happen again.
IMO, just chill and if they step up and help you with a new airframe great, if not you can pick up that airframe easy enough at a steel. No matter if they got you a new frame or not get a good plane and ask about chargers set-ups and get a good a handle how to set up another airframe with support.------------------------There have been others where you are; you are not the first; mark it up as lessons learned---It sux but it’s not the worst going to be thrown at you in your life.
Sorry about you losing your plane----------------------A

One of these days those Nazi's at the other site may rudely find out that censoring someone having a different view is illegal in both public and private forums. Private ownership of a forum does not negate that law.

However, if one is rude in their delivery or presents information that, without basis in supportable fact, defames another or a company, their posts can be removed without any fanfare or recourse.

I gotta agree with Big A. I tried to respond to your earlier thread, but I guess they were locking it as I was typing my note.

I know this is hindsight, but any time you open up a new charger, you need to read the instructions on exactly how to charge your type of batteries on it. Today's chargers will accomodate many different types of batteries, but they must be set up properly first. If the charger doesn't say that it will work on your exact battery type.... it probably won't.

I know you mentioned that the TBM rep suggested the charger... maybe he made a mistake. Then, maybe you made a mistake by using it. Maybe TBM will help you with the next plane, maybe they won't... There are many lessons to learn about giant scale. Unfortunately, a lot of people learn those lessons after a crash. Stay with it, talk to the other gas flyers at your field, and take it slow. There's a lot of fun to be had in the hobby, and I can tell you from experience, it's a lot less expensive if you ask questions before you take off!

I get-it ,you though they sold you lithium ion, but got something different, then your replacement airframe," that you purchased" arrived damaged. Now no-one wants to help you at the point of purchase. Sorry for your lose. If you defame a company that pays for ads here you will get your post pulled. Its the way it is. Better to not immediately mention where you purchased from, then let it slip-out later. Just pose the question about what happen, then go with the flow. Hang in there . Andy "RUTTING BUCK" Runey

Mr Flybye, Hi my name is Bill Hatcher. I am the tech department at TBM. I will on Monday find out what is going on with your plane parts that were dammaged in shipping. I did read your post this morning and I have a few questions. You stated you were charging your batteries and that they were charging to 8.2 volts. Then in the second paragraph or 3rd paragraph you say they were lipo-phosphate batteries. Phosohate batteris won't charge to 8.2 volts so I think you had Li-ion batteries. You charger is made to charge this type of batterys. I am sorry for you loss and I will find out what is going on with you replacment parts.
thanks

Mmmm....not really accurate. At all. Turns out that a private entity (not the govt., in other words) can remove whatever it wants from its public message board so long as the entity has judged the content removed to be "objectionable".

Section 230 of Title 47 of the United States Code (47 USC § 230).

Relevant section:

No provider or user of an interactive computer service shall be held liable on account of—
(A) any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected.

--

You can review the cases here: http://w2.eff.org/legal/ISP_liability/CDA230/

But EFF sums it up thusly:

Can my commenters sue me for editing or deleting their comments on my blog?
Generally no, if you are not the government. Section 230 protect a blog host from liability for “any action voluntarily taken in good faith to restrict access to or availability of material that the provider or user considers to be obscene, lewd, lascivious, filthy, excessively violent, harassing, or otherwise objectionable, whether or not such material is constitutionally protected.” This would include editing or deleting posts you consider objectionable, even if those posts would be protected by the First Amendment against government censorship.
