First, This site or any other is not really the place to discuss your problems you have with a product, unless in my opinion, you tried to work it out with the vendor, only to be told to go pound sand. Then I don't see a problem with posting an issue, as I've seen other people do.

I also don't blame you one bit for being upset. For the majority, this is a hobby with strict budgets, and replacing something can cost a lot of money. There are those though that have deep pockets and act like they invented the hobby and know it all, not much you can do about them.

Ignorance on the other can go both ways, not asking the proper questions can get you into a lot of trouble with some of the stuff we play around with.

FG is the place though for asking those questions, never assume something to be true, without asking around, even then though you might get 50 answers, with only 1 of them being correct.

You should be able to trust support from anyone at company you buy something from. In this hobby though, this is not the case.. Very strange..

There is a need to look into the laws in a little more depth. What has been quoted is indeed accurate but more can be found in other areas. Viewpoint differences, especially political, fall into a completely different regulatory group. They have no bearing at all in this situation, but in any forum cannot be pulled without the potential for serious redress. Of course that presumes that one view be censored while others remain. Should viewpoint differences be labeled as "objectionable" the burden of proof of that status would be born by the forum.

I should say that I did not view the original thread that generated a need for censorship, but had that thread been defamatory towards anyone there would be a likely need to pull the thread. As forum moderators and owners have both the right and responsibility to do. Their is a very large spread between "objectionable" and "viewpoint".

Well i really didnt expect it to rowl things up this much i didnt think i said anything wrong everything i wrote was true to the word.

For the record :
1 - there is no one in my club that has or flies gasser's for me to learn from .
2- The trition 2 charger was mine i did not buy it from ( them ) The salesman told me that
the Lithium ion battery would work with ( My Triton 2 charger ) and the would have been true
if it was stricktly a Lithium Ion But the battery i got from ( Them ) was a Lithium Ion nano Phosphate or A 123 cell With ( Their Name On the Battery ) in a plastic bag there were NO ! direction that came with the battery . so i thought it was just a Lithium Ion battery It did not say A123 cell on the pack anywhere.

3- When i called them to order a replacement plane for the one that Crashed the salesman ask me what happened ? What batteries ?? and What charger ?? The Salesman !! Not myself said it was more than likely the battery because the Triton 2 Charger that i already had would not charge Lithium Ion nano phosphate batteries but it would charge the Regular Lithium Ion batteries . The confusion was i thought when i made the first initial puchase of everything He said
lithium Ion Battery the battery i received say's on the pack Lithium Ion nano phosphate i did not know the difference but i figured these people sell these everyday that is why i took their advise.
4- By posting this here i thought maybe someone from the company would see it and actually call me /email me or something maybe i would get the airframe replaced for free Maybe not it didnt hurt to try . All of us in this fine sport/hobby /addiction dont have a MONEY PITT unfortunatly i am

DIFFERENCE between Lithium Ion & Lithium Ion nano phosphate I'M Guilty of that but i ordered a Lithium Ion and got a Lithium ion nano phosphate.
5- I did get a little disturbed not so much when i received My replacement plane that i bought
that was Damage because i understand things can happen in shipping But they told me it would be resolved in a couple of day's instead it has been almost a month and they have not tried to contact me at all i just wanted to get the parts replaced that were damaged in shipping.

6- someone here sugested posting the question about battery and the charger compatability
you know as well as i do that would have came back with many different answers and as i already stated i did not know the difference between Lithium Ion & Lithium Ion nano Phosphate
that is why i asked their salesman for his recomendation after all they sell them Everyday i understand mistakes can be made but im my bussiness as a small contractor if i do something
wrong it is me who PAY'S for it not the customer because this is suppose to be my feild of expertise.

I am not really conserned with the law's about forum's This is there forum and they can do as they seem fit.

I was miss informed about a battery that i was told would work with a charger that i already owned . I thought i was getting a Lithium Ion and I got a Lithium Ion nano Phosphate and there were no directions with the battery ( and i did PM a member here about the voltage ) and charging info .


It was just a small mixup that caused a big crash $$$$ and expence that i was not counting on .

Im sure I will take some heat from this....but since when has that stopped me. If you are sticking batteries in planes...and charging them with chargers...and you cant tell the difference between a A123 and a Lithium Ion battery....You perhaps jumped in above your skill set for this hobby. If you are flying GS aircraft, you should know every aspect of charging batteries. On the label, it should say A123, or Lithium Nano Phosphate or LifePO4 or what ever it is. It should even say the Mah on the pack. Regardless...it is your responsibility to know what you have and if it will work. Triton chargers suck anyway and you should know that...

I know that I have a hard time keeping up with all of the new things that come on to the market these days. And I love my triton Jr.

It does not say A 123 or LifePO4 on the battery and there were no directions with the battery
I thought i was gettig a regular Lithium Ion battery which the salesman told me would work with my Triton 2 charger but i got shipped to me a Lithium Ion nano Phosphate and i didnt know there was a difference that is why i bought the battery he sugested because they should know what works .

Yes it is true i at the time did not know the difference if there was any between a Lithium Ion & the Lithium Ion nano Phosphate

As for triton Chargers SUCK that's youre opinion i have had two of them for years and never had a problem with them so i dont know what you base that on .

I did not see the original thread that was closed. It stinks that you lost a plane and I am sorry to here it. I have both Lithium Ion and A123 Lithium Ion with Nanophosphate technology batteries. I spent 2 or 3 weeks reading up on the battery types and which one was better and so on. (Thanks to the people on this forum for the information) I too do not have a lot of spare money lying around, so when I purchase something new I research ask questions and learn as much as possible. That being said I do not believe the salesman was wrong you can use the Triton charger to charge the A123 but you need a device called a "dapter" to do it. http://www.slkelectronics.com/lipodapter/index.htm I have one listed for sale in the Swapshop http://www.flyinggiants.com/swapshop...=14340&cat=fav. It sounds like TBM is going to take care of you which is great.

OK, back to the issue.... By now you know that apparently there was a mis-match between your batteries and your charger. Electrical problems unfortunately cause a TON of airplane crashes each year, and for the most part, they are impossible to track down to the exact cause. If you have found the exact cause, then you're one step ahead on the learning curve for these planes. It's a painful, expensive hobby if you're learning by experience.

You've found a website where folks of all experience levels will give you more info than you ever thought existed on virtually every aspect of this hobby (have you ever considered boost tabs??). So, if you don't have any more gas experts at your field, please feel free to ask here... folks will come out of the woodwork to give you suggestions, some good... some not so good. You can sort out the details.

I am sorry for your loss I suspect that most folks reading and posting on this thread have been through the same pain that you have. Losing a plane to something other than dumb thumbs is a painful experience... losing 2 of them in the span of 5 take offs hurts twice as much (don't ask).

Take your time, don't trust anything that you haven't double-checked at least 10 times, and try to take every accident as a learning experience... it's the only way you'll keep your sanity. Otherwise, you could end up like Pepatrick!
