Not today.. I did get out a little on Friday, so I need to spend a little family time today. I'll be out of town for a few days next week.

So this guy is a newbie and he calls to order a plane and equipment form a company that has marketed itself as one that gives good advice and support. I have been there back in the day when it was just Bill and Gene that you talked to. They were always patient with me their advice and products worked out great for me. With out their knowledge and advice my jump to large scale would have been difficult and frustrating. Unfortunately it appears that because of our hard economic times TBM was forced to let some help go and rely on less experienced help. I do no that I'm glad when ordering recently that I new what I was ordering because the last 2 times I have ordered from them the sales person was clueless. So this guy gets a battery that is not what he ordered with no label or information sheet. So he sets his charger for lions because thats the info he received would work and over charged them. I dont blame him for being frustrated. Yes he deserves the advice not to flame a company on here. But there is no need to try and make an a$$ out of him. Telling the guy he should no what kind of batteries he has and that his charger is junk is ridiculous.

oh come on...being like me is not all that bad. I guess you get used to after a long time...well..Im not sure Im used to it yet. Yes, I was harsh on the Triton 2. I have owned one and disappointed in its settings. Any multi chemistry charger available today should have the ability to charge A123 batteries. For less money a Cell Pro 4s multi will do anything and everything including A123s, ions and Mangos.

If in fact TBM sent an unlabeled battery with no instructions, then perhaps they should be on the hook for the plane. I dont want to bash TBM, but their service has definitely suffered over the last year.

Ok, I read the original post. The post stated to the best of my recollection that the salesman suggested a charger, and Flybye said he thought his charger he already had was good enough, so the salesman went along with it.

Should Flybye have checked it out further?... yes

Should the salesman have known the batteries and charger were incompatible?...yes

Please just chalk this one up to an very unfortunate mis-communication.

The reason i did not post the question in a new thread is you generally get a bunch of different
opinions and as i said i was new to gasser's and how would i know which advise to take that is why i ask for help from the people who sell them everyday.

Thanks you seem to get my point ( I only expect what i am told i will get and no more )
I expected the setup that they described i would need to be compatable i told them the charger i would be useing i was expecting a lithium ion and got a Lithium Ion nano phosphate i did not know the difference ( The Salesman Should ) and as i stated before no directions with the battery and as i said i did ask a member here in a PM about charging settings and voltage but i ask about a Lithium Ion not an A123 battery .

Seems like there may be enough blame to go around here but Bill has said he would take care of it so why not just throw this one out too? Doesn't seem to be serving any useful purpose anymore. Just insults. Mr. FlyBye I would highly suggest that you thoroughly research any new technology you plan on buying in the future from the guys on here that have hands on experience with the stuff. I think you'll find you'll be a lot more successful and waste a lot less money. I'm no fan of TBM but this thread just seems like a perfect candidate for the round file.

I did read your post this morning and I have a few questions. You stated you were charging your batteries and that they were charging to 8.2 volts. Then in the second paragraph or 3rd paragraph you say they were lipo-phosphate batteries. Phosohate batteris won't charge to 8.2 volts so I think you had Li-ion batteries. You charger is made to charge this type of batterys. I am sorry for you loss and I will find out what is going on with you replacment parts.
thanks
Thanks Bill i look forward to talking to you about it and hope we can resolve the problem sorry
but i was getting a little disturbed at the fact that no one would return my call for almost a month
about the situation .

I have no doubt that TBM is in the process of righting the ship. Bill is back and you will find him to be very helpful. As for Craven, well dont listen to him I guess he just likes belittling a newbie.
