Default How 'bout those 37.5% Carden Yaks

Here's the skinny. A friend has a 37.5% Carden Yak kit that has never had daylight in the boxes. It's been on his shelf for the last three years because after he paid $1300 + S&H, he claims he hasn't heard anything good about them. Claims it won't do what he wants it to do when he's done with it.

So......I call him one day and he tells me he needs to get rid of all his unbuilt kits and ARF's (quite an extensive collection, he buys everything in sight as soon as it comes out), he offered me the complete kit for $500. I know it's a bargain, that's like a $1000 off after S&H from what he paid for it.

I have a 35% Carden Extra that an extraordinary flyer, I love the way it's built and how it fly's. But as far as the Yak is concerned, I have found very little information or discussion about the kit or completed plane. Forum threads have always been the most informative on any plane kit, ARF, build info or setup....right, wrong or otherwise!

Can anyone tell me about it, or point me to some threads that I'v been too blind to find?

Any info is greatly welcomed.

Yeah..I think I would jump all over that. I have seen enough Carden Yaks fly...and flown a few myself. They fly great. Nothing to complain about...

Have had three Carden Caps and two Carden Extra 330s. Now own a Carden 37.5% Yak. My Yak flies the best.

OK, OK! I got the message!!!!! I already called the guy and told him I'd take it.....................before he could change his mind or one of you guys get to him first! Thanks guys. I was out flying my 35% Carden Extra today in this beautiful NW Minnesota weather (45 degrees, breezy with low clouds and drizzle) until my fingers wouldn't move on the transmitter anymore. If the Yak is anything like it I can't go wrong (impossible at that price).

Anyone who tells you a Carden won't do this or that has bad info, and has never seen one fly themself.

I've commited myself to buy it, and he's in no hurry to shove it out the door (he doesn't need the money) so he's just sitting on it until I get time to get there to pick it up.

It's not like he was advertising it. We talk a couple times a week, and it just came up and he figured he'd die with it. There's not a lot of people in our area that are into a aerobat of that size, and the ones there are all doin' the ARF thing.

He has 35% and 40% Carden Extra's as it is and just didn't see the point in building another after he just bought a QQ Python, A QQ 101" Yak, two Extreme Flight Yaks (50cc and 118") and cobbed together a TBM Shock Jet. This along with his many heli's. I truely envy the dude! So yes, I'll take his loss for my gain!
