Well, I hope that this thread doesn't go bad, but I was just wondering if any of you have had any problems with the strength of the Graphtech #616 wing tube? I haven't heard of any problems, but I just wanted to be totaly sure. I'm thinking about putting one in my H9 35% Extra 260, and if any of you have seen me fly, you know that I push planes to the limits, and sometimes stretch those limits.
Anyway, I've heard a lot of good about Graphtech's products, but I just wanted you guys' opinion. Thank you all!

My tubes all survive my flying and I like to wall at WOT.....if that helps. I know TnT are great tubes but have heard not so good things about another make and I'm not talking about those from NZ.

If you're that worried about the strength then order a tube from these guys. Tell them your application and they'll get you what you need, at a cost.
http://www.carbonfibertubeshop.com//...FSReagodHliCyA That said, I use Graphtech tubes and landing gear and have never had a problem. Both quality products.

Sounds like some unconfirmed second hand info there??/ All the TBM tubes I have are very strong, I have stepped on them. No problems with quality or strengh. As for the other tubes out there , check the wall thickness and make your own descion. good luck

thats justs plain stupid to step on it. why in the world would you do that? do a search here and rcuniverse you will find it. like i said they might have changed companys. but i would look into before i bought one. i buy alot from tbm but not sure about the carbon tubes. would have to check who they are buying them from.

TNT tubes have survived a few major crashes of mine and I reused them after the crashes-never had a problem. This was in 35%ers.

James , I had to cut my tube to final length, and had a piece approx 10 inches long left over. I hit it with a hammer, stepped on it, and more. The extra piece that is. I weigh 280 lbs. Very strong tube indeed. First hand knowledge there. So if there were any issues with the TBM tubes it must have been taken care of. Lots of good tubes out there. You want the lightest, or the strongest one , takes some research as you suggested. For the money I believe the TBM tubes are the strongest, not the lightest. Best regards Andy "RUTTING BUCK " Runey
