Default New DLE 55 arrived

I purchased it from a vendor in Hong Kong, which I won on an ebay bid. Took 14 days shipping from Hong Kong to Alamogordo, NM and was well boxed with no damage. The new DLE 55 box was opened and everything inside was again well packaged. Am extremely pleased and would do this again.

This is my first gasser engine and I want to thank all you guys for all of your posts, as I have gained alot of information from them. Now on to finish my build, as I am looking forward to starting this new motor.

Pilot,
If there's any free time on your hands and you have a minute, shoot some pix of the front and back of the cylinder head base where the casting says DLE on the front and back of the cylinder base where it meets the crankcase. Should have a very neat stamped (not hand etched) serial number on the back side. I'm eager to see one up close as I (unfortunately) got suckered for a fake DL from an "DL distributor" selling out of good old Texas, USA. I found that the guys at my field had no idea that there were "fakes of copies" (many feel the DL was a near copy of a DA). It would be a real good thing if more fliers of chinese gas motors were as familiar as possible with the castings, and what a potential counterfeit DA/DLE looks like that, as that might discourage a few unethical US vendors from distributing knock-offs of DLE's (just as they did will the DL motors). It's just a matter of time before the DLE's get copied as the DL's did and dumped here to people eager to pick up on some cost effective DLE power.

Their's a serial number, A2417, on the top of the DLE 55 box, which matches the stamp on the engine case, on the back of the engine. DLE55, on the left, which appears cast and then the stamp A2417. You can also see a larger DLE on the base above the smaller stamp serial number.

Sounds like you may have a fake of a copy of a DA50r. Do you plan to send it back to Hong Kong for warranty work?

What do you plan on doing if you service. You won't get any warranty work in the USA.

Of course he will send it back to Hong Kong for service and support. Although, I have heard of a hobby shop in Mongolia that services fake DLE's.

people that say dl coppied da are ignorant morons. ignorant means lacking in knowledge or training
and they do not know any thing about engines. theres only one way to make a rear inducted reed valve 2 stroke air cooled engine.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, and yes, I am an ignorant moron, but is there a difference in a DLE engine, and a DA copy that's marketed under the DLE name? I know that there's a difference between my CRKT knife that I bought from a "vendor" in Afghanistan, and the legit ones... (i.e. different metal, poor fit, etc.)

Now, if I was going to go on a knife forum and post about my sh!tty CRKT knife... There is a difference between a $130 CRKT M16Ū-14 Special Forces knife, and the $25 special that I own.....

Now, I know that knives have nothing to do with DA and DLE's, but is it possible that the problems are more than the obvious similarities between one "rear inducted reed valve 2 stroke air cooled engine" and another?

JMHO,
Chris

uuhhhh... all imm trying to say is dl did not copy da. did da copy 3w? did first place engines copy dl? no, there is only 1 way to make this style engine. i hear some real stupid people say things like "all man they even put the spark plug in the same place as a da" and i think this is the biggest retard on earth. then i usually say to them something like "where were the supposed to put it, in the exhaust port?" i really shouldent waist my time with people like that but....
