Default Futaba 8U and 9C - Dual Servos on Rudder

I've been using a Futaba 8UAFS for years and finally got a deal on a used 9CHFS. I'm doing all the programming (basically copying what I had in the old transmitter) and am using 2 servos on the rudder in a push/pull configuration one on each side of the tail, each with a pushrod. In the programming I have a channel 7 to channel 7 in the programmable mixers at -100%, -100%. I must have been told to do that at some point, but can't remember why and can't see the reason in the manual.

Any ideas?

It sounds like that mix would disable a control on that channel. Is channel 7 permanently assigned to a dial or switch? That might be the reason to do it. As long as there isnt a switch or dial assigned to your second rudder channel, a P-mix from channel 4 to the second rudder channel should be all that is necessary...

Good point. On the 9C I will disable the VR knob and inhibit the mix. I will check tonight to see if it worked.

Thanks.

Yes for the 8U that mix would eliminate the knob from moving the surface. The 9C you can just turn off the knob, a mutch better design.

Thanks for the replies. I did find on the 9C the menu to deactivate the knob. All is well and ready to fly.

Thanks.
