It's probably the perfect tx pack. I'm using Lipo 2500mah right now. 8.5-9.5 hours per charge.

Eneloops are the perfect TX cell. Charge and treat like the NiMH cells that they are but they retain their charge on the shelf like a Lipo. 95% retention after 6 months, 80% at a year!!

About NoBS, my experience has been mostly good, and Steve Anthony is a person who has INTEGRITY, if there is any problem. I have purchased 3 or 4 packs from him in the last couple of years and he makes quality packs and is a straight shooter all the way. The packs come very well labeled and marked with charge rate info. He even includes a little log sheet to chart the history of the pack and it's capacity. No BS from NoBs.

Beyond any doubt NoBS Batteries.

Their website http://www.hangtimes.com/nobsbatteries.html has every combination there is. Their packs are assembled in a far superior method compared to others. And they stand behind them.

Also their website provides much educational material about various battery types and their various pro's and con's. Just reading the information will give you a better understanding of batteries.

Have them in my transmitter and 3 packs in one plane. These are the best batteries I have used. They are going into all my planes.

I have been using the enloop's in my 40% IMAC plane with no problems. Where did you get the info about the internal resistance and the current draw problem?

Jack- the Eneloop simply are not designed for high current spikes or loads
They were developed for cameras or similar uses ,where long shelf life with low discharge and stable long use in low current devices is intended
if yo look at the mfgrs spec page on them, you will see that they are high impedance designs
I use em for my Canon and tx apps. Absolutely great in those apps.
If you test using a WHATTMETER ,the voltage depression und high load is obvious.
In a model such as slow flying glider -using small, low demand servos -they also would work well.

As Dick notes, the Eneloops are not intended for higher current installations. Their IR is fairly high (27 milliohms or so) and they will exhibit significant voltage depression under load. I get my NiMH packs from No BS Batteries. Go check his page out for great packs and loads of good info:

http://www.hangtimes.com

I use the Eneloop cells in a couple of transmitters and some 1 or 2 servo boats and they are great. But I would not use them in high current applications.
