So I ordered my ignition from southeastrcengines about 10 days ago and I still have no package. I'm beginning to wonder if maybe it got lost in mail or shipped to the wrong address. Thinkin maybe i should give them a call.....

Always order a new sensor when you order a new ignition. It's only $5 more.

Yes, give Ron a call. He would be more than happy to track-it down for you!

I spoke with Ron today, he said to give it another day or two and if still haven't received anything to just give him a call back, and hopefully he'll help me out a bit.

As far as the sensor I got my new sensors already so this will be an entirely new ignition. If the problem still exists or comes back after this I have no choice but to send the motor in for service.

All I can say is hang in there ibanezex718. My first gasser, the dle55 has been flawless and after 4 gallons she's running like a champ. Hope the ignition fixes it and you get to wear the smile I do when I'm flying at my field. Good luck.

I'm sure it will be all good. I know that once it's all fixed my confidence will grow and I can finally compete with her. I still trust DLE and have future plans for a %35 yak or extra in the near future powered by a dle-111

Ok so I got my new ignition in, put it all together and it ran fine for almost two tanks, then the problem started again. I changed out the hall sensor again just to be safe, then nothing again.

Then I came across something while I was checking voltage, it appeared that the battery pack was broken, almost completely in half. I feel really dumb for not checking this before. I took the battery off and with it connected to a voltage meter I wiggled it around and sure enough the voltage was dropping and picking back up again. So I'm pretty sure this is the problem because it started back up and ran fine with another pack.

Now my one question to all you experts out there....... With my new ignition from southeastrcengines.com it says I can use up to a 6volt pack. I've read many forums of people saying don't use 6 volts on the ignition. So I'm wondering since the instructions say I may use a 6 volt pack as long as it doesn't surpass 7 volts I should be ok. Any recommendations out there?

if you uses a 6v batt pack use a reg to keep it at or below 6v. thats why a 4.8 is best. all the power you need plus wieght savings and no reg needed.

Seems like a whole lot of hassle to go thru, just to find out that you did not even check the ignition battery, the usual cause of ignition problems.

Usually that 6V means UP TO 6v but NOT PAST IT!!! I believe if I remember correctly these ignitions will fire down into the 3V range somewhere so you are good to go on a 4.8V pack...Hell I run a 4.8V NiMH on my 100cc without problems, just try to find a big capacity pack. I'm running 2300mAh... Also more voltage doesn't mean bigger spark it just wears down the pack faster according to a well known and trusted expert on these little engines...
