Default Real Flight G5

Real Flight G5 is coming towards the end of Oct/early Nov. It's being offered as a $79.99 upgrade to existing 4.5 owners. From the description, it doesn't look like it offers much over 4.5, but perhaps there is more information that isn't being made public at the moment.

dantley, i know you said that it doesn't look like much of a difference but there must be some marketing strategy???

Looks like more game and less simulator... I'm looking forward to the next AFPD.

Man, I don't think it's worth it to buy a new simulator every time one comes out.... Didn't G4 come out this time last year? Save your money, G5.5 will be here by spring and G6 this time next year....

I'm still on 3.5... didn't upgrade for that very reason.. I may consider G5, if it gives a little more realistic response from the planes.

It's the same thing all software developers do, keep the cash cow rolling.

Not that this won't have any new features, but they are getting away from the "SIM" part and making it more like a game.

Actually Reyn I didn't see THAT much difference between 3.5 and 4.5 ....OK yeah the graphics are a little better but as to the flying aspect it felt almost the same. 4.5 was hyped as being more realistic than 4 but I had everything on advanced and it wasn't much different if at all.

Anyone still got a copy of G1 ?. I tried it recently.......oh man is that harder than 4.5. When you hover after editing a model it really is a task keeping the thing upright. With 4.5 my wife can hover some models....talk about simplified.

I agree completely. I hope the new Aerofly is better.
