Default 9C Spektrum Module and Smoke Mix

I just converted my Futaba 9C to 2.4 using a Spektrum module. In my planes I am using AR9000 RXs, everything went smoothly. All the flight controls and mixes worked as they did with the 72MHz & R149DP RXs or at least I thought.

Last night I decided that I would tweak my smoke mixes a bit, but I found that this didn’t work at all!! This was working perfectly just before I converted.

I am hoping someone can shed some light on why it doesn’t work under Spektrum.

Here is my setup:

With the Futaba R149DP I had the channels allocated like this:

1 – Right Aileron
2 – Right Elevator half
3 – Throttle
4 – Rudder
5 – Choke
6 – Left Aileron
7 (Aux1) – Smoke Pump
8 (Aux2) – Left Elevator half

On the Spektrum AR9000 I have set it up like this:

(1) Throttle – Throttle
(2) Aileron – Right Aileron
(3) Elevator – Right Elevator Half
(4) Rudder – Rudder
(5) Gear – Choke
(6) Aux 1 – Left Aileron
(7) Aux 2 – Smoke Pump
(8) Aux 3 – Left Elevator half

Through a process of elimination I have determined that the Futaba – Spektrum Aux channels match up like this:

Futaba – Spektrum
Ch. 6 = Aux 1
Ch. 7 = Aux 2
Ch. 8 = Aux 3

The left aileron and elevator work perfectly, so I am confident that Ch. 7 is Aux 2.

This how my mix is setup:
---------------------------------------------------
P-MIX 6
MIX ON (Depending on switch position)
MAS – Throttle
SLV – AUX1
LINK – ON

SW – D
POSI – UP

Mix Pg. 2

ON (Depending on switch position
THRO-AUX1
POS 1 – 100%
POS 2 – 100%
POS 3 – 19%
POS 4 + 100%
POS 5 + 100%

---------------------------------------------------

P-MIX 4
MIX OFF (Depending on switch position)
MAS – OFST
SLV – AUX1
LINK – OFF

SW – D
POSI - DOWN

Pg.2

OFF (Depending on switch position)
OFST-AUX1

RATE 0%

-------------------------------------------------

This mix setup came from Futaba support and up until now has worked perfectly.

Thanks!
