I plan to buy new servos
![]() Who has already used the new Futaba BLS152 servos and with which result ? Can you give an opinion between the classic JR 8711 and the new Futaba BLS152 ? Thank you. Eric Last edited by Wilga; 10-17-2009 at 06:59 AM. |

I've used several of new Futaba BLS servos including the BLS152 servos and am really impressed. The first thing you will notice is they don't buzz like other digital brushed motor servos. I'm not an EE major, however, the theory of the brushless motor and the magnets that are used is they don't "fade in power" as the motor gets hot from use. The BLS152s that I'm using are very quick and don't fade under heavy load. If you get your finger caught in the the hinge line it will cut them off. All of this is the good news. The bad news is they are pricey.

If used the BLS252s for a whole summer and the gear train is still very tight. I only used the BLS152s for about 2 months before the weather got bad so I don't have any long term data to share with you. After two mount the BLS152s are like new.

I just got some for a new build. They are the best servo's I've ever messed with out of the box. We'll see how they hold up. My 9157's have been really good after 300 flights.

Does anyone know if they are good to use unregulated A123 batteries on?
Thanks, Damon |

Actually lived in Ft. Worth and Arlington. Do you have any idea what the real world tests are like a basic Fish Scale test like TBM uses. http://www.troybuiltmodels.com/categ...00/Servos.html According to their testing
Thanks, Damon |

It all comes down to the method the manufacturer uses to obtain their specs. In the past, Futaba's have always done what the box said. I'll let somebody who's in the know take that any further.
I've been really happy with the 9156 and 9157's. I've got some BLS152's waiting on me to build a plane. I've messed with them on the bench and they seem really good.
