Default Anything to do in Colorado Springs?

Hey all,

I'm going to be flying into Colorado Springs tomorrow in the morning and leaving out Tuesday mid day. Any cool places to see? Flying fields anything like that?

Andrew

NORAD (North American Aerospace defense command) Not sure if you can get in right away, but it's worth a try.

There is a flying field around Colorado Springs, I'm just not sure what the name of it is. Sorry, not much help there.
If you get north of Denver we have a really great field, you're more than welcome to visit. It's not far from Scott Stoops place.
Other things would be the Garden of the gods, it's pretty cool to see. Pikes Peak is also right there, it's a fun drive to the top.

The Air Force Academy is there which can be pretty cool at times. I think the closest RC field is the Pikes Peak RC Club out NE of the Springs. If you've got a GPS or TomTom the coordinates for the field are:

Lat 38.957660
Lon -104.499657

Looks like it has two great paved runways.

If you want to look at it in Google Earth you might use my file to bring it up, a lot of they guys are using it now for finding RC fields when there traveling.

Redrocks. I never saw it when I lived in Ft. Collins except from the road, but I hear it's pretty cool and has rock climbing if you're into that.

I surprisingly liked the Valley of the Gods, if there is not to much snow. I am sure Pike's Peak is off due to cold weather. Alot of bars restaurants and shopping.

Come check out the Air Force Academy! Garden of the Gods is pretty nice. There is also a guy named Dragon Man just east of the springs who has a museum of all kinds of guns, tanks, vehicles, etc. You can rent and shoot at the range there, paintball, and there is also a motocross track.

PPRC is a very nice field with very nice people. But it is at 6800 feet!!!! If the weather is nice I can try too hook you up with a buddy of mine that has a nice AW 300 that he'd probably let you fly.
