Making a model after the full scale mid-wing 2-seat 300 allows the model to be almost square while staying within the 10% rule. There isn't much room to mess with after the stretch 300 but it's within scale. Hope many aren't trying to spread the word that it's out of scale, because its not. It actually looks alot more like the real deal than other models.

TDT, are you going to be transporting your model in a trailer or van or something? Keep the extra length of the ML in mind. If you are just starting out in IMAC and will be in the lower classes for a few years I think you would be happy with both airframes. For the higher classes it may provide a little extra edge. I have a Dalton 260 as well and my stretch 300 is about 9" longer, pretty substancial.

Probably got a few years before that happens though lol.
You can stick with a regular one all the way up through Advanced, only time its going to make a whole lot of difference is when you're trying to squeeze out every last point like in Unlimited. Heck, I flew a 101" QQ Yak with a DA 85 at the NATS two years ago in Advanced and won with it. Not a necessity to have a stretched ML until Unlimited, maybe advanced, IMHO.

But they are great flying planes! I'm having one built! LOL

Good point about the length, Kelly. She's a long airplane. Matt Balazs had one and a Dalton 260 framed up together, and with the firewalls even with one another, the ML was a little longer than the 260, with no rudder on the ML. The fullscale 300L, which is essentially the same dimensionally as the 300 is a pretty big airplane.

The 300ML is what you would want for Imac and the regular 300 for both. I own both the regular 300 and the ML 300 both are excellent airframes. But I would have to say Tony did his homework when it comes to the ML 300. Heck why not get both one for sequence flying and one for 3-D it's a long winter. LOL!!

Bobby, I think SuperDave down in FL has one framed up hes trying to sell. Check the swapshop. It's got cored out wings and is ready to cover if he still has it.

No problem, I have a 10' trailer and should have plenty of room.
