Default My new 100

This weekend I weened my new 100 off the break in oil and I have a couple questions:
1. I picked Red Line oil and the 16 ounce bottle will make three 2 gallon mixes of approximately 5 1/3 oz. or about a mix of 40:1, is that acceptable ?.
2. Being and old motorcycle racer I tune by reading the plug, they are light brown, and dry. I have the long MTW pipes that come out of the fuse under the canopy and the bottom of the plane is a little wet after a day of flying. My question is: should I try and lean it to make the plugs more greyish or just tune it until it runs perfectly on the rich side ?

Thanks for your Help
Randy

Hi Randy, actually at 40/1 16 oz. will make 5 gals. That is a good mix for any engine(since you did'nt say which brand). Plugs sound good, but you really need to tune by ear on these since they are not run wide open under a heavy load like a race bike. I'm sure somebody who can expain it better will chime in here shortly Good luck my friend.

Well, yea, it's a DA, the only engine I will fly, I could tell you a story or relate many stories I have heard, but let's just say the service you get makes them the best.

Tune it till it runs perfectly. Avoid going much towards the rich side.
