Jeff. What is the latest on the status of your field? Are you guys in the same location?

Our field was sold to the Veterans Administration for a national cemetery by the city of Jacksonville. The cemetery is being built in phases currently phase one is complete, but we are located in phase two which we have been told a time frame of 2 to 3 more years before we are asked to vacate. The city and the VA have been very helpful in leaving us where we are until the time comes. They are holding burials ‘everyday but Sunday, so far we have worked with them as much as we can to keep the noise down and we have only had a couple of complaints.
The city is working with us to relocate our facility, but as all of you know it’s very difficult to secure land like we have, but we do have a couple of prospects. We have another RC club in town that is mostly for helicopters and smaller planes. I am a member at the other club, but have never thought of using it as a backup location. I have flown my 40% at that field, so it is possible to do, but some guys are not comfortable with the trees.

FX3D III is a go at Gateway RC for 2010

Maybe you should offer them a missing man flight formation or banner plane pulling the American flag.....something valuable to make the want you to stay. But then again, it is about the land, acreage. You going to Ocala or Atlanta this weekend? See ya sooner or later.

We have all been very positive about loosing our field, not too many guys can say they are going to be put to rest at their old flying field.

I will be at Hickfest, sorry it slipped Huckfest.

2009 was my first year attending the fx-3d and will not be my last! I had a great time at this event one of the best I have been to. Jeff and our other members at our field put on one heck of a show! I am sure that this year is going to be even better then last year!
