Default Throttle setup in a Carden

Hi Guys,

A friend of mine is building a couple new Carden 330 mid wing kits with the lightened motorbox that Dennis offers. My friend had me look at how the engine is set up and what he should do with the throttle servo and linkage.

I noticed that the ply part that creates the cannister floor is set at a height that is above the throttle arm on the carb by a fair amount. I have solved many problems, but this one is interesting.

Does anyone have any pics on how you mounted yourr servo for the throttle and run the linkage.

We appreciate any tip or ideas.

Thanks.

On my 35% Joe, I mounted my throttle servo on the angle plate just below the FW. I'm not sure if all that is needed, but I may have someone lighten up the front end of mine when I go to get it all back together. I was rather NOSE HEAVY, if you can remember.....

I also cut a slot in that plate, and run the servo arm thru there, with the servo mounted on the inside. You might be able to find pix here, as I had to reload the system on the other laptop I had. I lost nearly 2000 pix....... But oh well!

Thanks for the quick responce guys. This helps greatly. I am so use to putting the servo up inside the fuse, this never crossed my mine, but will work perfectly.
This also saves me from hitting the Tylenol bottle for my headache i would have had trying to solve this.

Thanks.

I have never mounter a servo on the outside of the motorbox, and have always done it like your secound option. But with the cannister floor with the CNC cut motor box, this was going to be a problem cause the floor sits too high. the above pics take a lot of thinking out of this mounting process.

Thanks.

Joe, on my Dalton now, it has a pre cut spot for the servo. Just drop the servo in and go(like above pics), but those are on the side. I would prefer it that way. Easier to get your throttle geometry set that way....

I would go like the above pics, personally.......

Chris,

Yes, as soon as I seen those pics posted, my problem was solved. That was my answer.
Thanks
