There was a lot of discussion going around when Quique first released the Yaks on the market with respect to the spacing of the rear of the propeller to the face of the cowl for a radial engine. The reason was propeller efficiency.
Does anyone know the design criteria or "rule of thumb" that governs this spacing, or a publication that descibes the necessary design factors to come up with the spacing? Any input would be appreciated Ted

Honestly, it really doesn't matter, as long as the prop isn't right up against the cowl.
