Hi guys,
I will be building a 40% 260 this winter. The plan is to power this airplane with Da170 with RE3 pipes. I will be getting the accessories needed soon but I have question. What is the right thrust required for thsi combination. Is 2.5 deg enough? What is your experience with this setup? This airplane will be setup for IMAC only. Thanks for your feedback. |

2.5 is what you need. It will be perfect. Mine is getting covered and painted as we speak.
Unless you are getting the prelightened motorbox. If you are, you will not use a degree offset it is already built into the box.

I think it will depend more on the prop you chose to run.
IE: 3 blade 3 degrees 2 blade 2.5 tony

It will most likely be a 2-blade initially but may try a 3 balde too. Goal is also to keep it quiet. I am reading Reza's thread on the setup with the pipes so I will watch closely. Thanks.

With you having the lightened motorbox you will not need to worry about anything. You are good to go no matter what prop you run.

I know BBW uses an old school motor box and a 2.5 SWB mount.

Hi there!I might be able to help as I run this setup in my 40% Carden 300
for 3D I was using a 32X10 and Imac a 29X12 3blader on the stock thrust!I would try Mejzlik 31X12 this is what ill be running in pattern after testing the prop!the 3 blader produces lots of torque which is a pain to manage on the DA170 with re3's! hope this helps?

Thanks Craig. How is the noise with the 31x12? Wasn't there 30x13 prop also being developed?
