Hi All.
I too have this exact same plane on the way. I'm curious to know which servos everytone will be using on the ailerons, elevators & rudder. Phil... |

I recently ordered one of these to fly next summer. I plan to use two 8711s on each aileron, two on the rudder and one on each elevator at 6V.

rv6av8er, I am not sure exactly where the proper balance point will be. Once I fly the airplane and play with the CG I will let you know what I find. From talking with John about it, it should be very close with the batteries up in the motor box.
Phil, I am using Futaba S9157s all the way around, 2 per alieron, might make it 3, but only to support the aileron since it is so long, it will get some twist in the middle. That I wont know till after I get some flights on it, 2 on the rudder, and 1 on each elevator. Hope that helps guys, Dan

i think if you plan on doing any highspeed 3d stuff (when i say this i mean going straight and level at full throttle and then cranking the ailerons whether its a snap or roll) that you use 3 servos on ailerons. on mine i ahve 2 8711's per aielron(outboard/inboard) and at full throttle the ailerons are useless. but at imac speed its fine.

harv, thanks for the suggestion I will keep that in mind. mine are set up like yours, one in and one out. Thanks!!
2walla, dad has already changed there position. thanks for the advice. danielph, I am looking forward to getting some video when I get home. I hope there is no snow on the ground so I can fly it. as for the cold in NY I am not so worried about that as it has been about 20 deg out here in Afghanistan flying the UAVs. Thanks guys!!
