Default 3DHS 51" slick or 3DHS 57" extra 330sc?

3DHS 51" slick (http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=2345) or
3DHS 57" extra 330sc (http://www.3dhobbyshop.com/detail.aspx?ID=2510) ? Any comparison on

KE/tumbles/precision?

Which would you get?

Who has flown both?

I already have four 6S TP 6S2700s so these would be great on the 57".

That said, I want to go for the best.... looking for giant scale like 3D with minimal coupling.

If minimal coupling is very important, the SC mid-low wing extra has no roll coupling and very little pitch coupling (that depends on your CG, of course). The Slick design is fantastic, but with the higher wing position, there's a bit of roll coupling which is easily mixed out.

I have a bunch of 6S2700 TP 30C packs. Assuming I get the right KV setup, it seems these would work well with the SC correct?

Is a 225 enough for rudder or should I go with a standard?

Those packs would certainly deliver the watts you need at a reasonable weight as long as you go low enough on the kv.

225MG is plenty on the rudder.

Thanks Scott. Do you need 225MG on the ailerons as well. What KV do you suggest for 6S - 600? Is 1000W about right for this setup on 15x7?

225MG or Airtronics 94761 work great on all surfaces.

I'm thinking lower - in the 400-450 range on 6S. Ben would be a better source on that, though.

Yep, 400-480 or so for 6S.

Something like this: http://www.gobrushless.com/shop/inde...&ref=SC4020-16

For sure. I went to 'Highlights' place last night and was looking at his Slick 51" build. It will be nice that we have different types to fly.

400KV 1100W motor / esc / 15x8 electric wood / spinner / 4 x 225MGs and a nice H9 50 size red, white, blue pilot are on there way.

Will post a video when I have it done.

Has anyone compared the 3D 57" 3330 to the extreme flight 58" extra? I have seen the extreme flight in person and it is a very nice plane but out of stock.. They are both about the same price, but which is better?

I liked the EF 58" a year or so ago, but now that I have the 3DHS 57" 330 I will never regret it. It is about 1lb lighter and the throws are insane. Construction is A+ and fit and finish is great. Also, having the removeable SFG is nice for extreme 3D.
