You will be surprised how easily these little foam tails twist, Skippy.

I don't have the camera in front of me, so I cannot comment on shutter speeds. I do know that the ISO setting it on AUTO. I changed it from 400 to 1600, to AUTO. I feel I get a little better pic on AUTO.

skippy?

In any case the mx2's pretty stiff. I havent seen a foamy yet that didn't flex a little but usually not THAT much.

The tail on that airplane really is very stiff with the way I do the bracing. The carbon trussing down the tail makes it extremely resistant to torque. Obviously it twists a little, but that picture does make it look exagerated. As I said, I think part of what you see is the tips of the elevator flexing with the roll. That combined with what Stephen said seems to explain it well. If you look at the vertical stab, it doesn't look very twisted at all.

I take and wrap thread around the servo arm. There is a little slot in the Radical RC arm, and I take the thread through there, then I glue it to the arm as well.

Yeah. JR Fest. Someone else was flying. They think something failed on the heli. Don't quite know for sure. I was working on my MX2 at the time, hence the "1st Shredded" MX2 jokes earlier in the thread. LOL

This picture doesn't look bad at all, but I'm not gonna post the "before" pic. Its kinda nasty. Just really happy I still have both eyes!

Yes. Normally, with a stock servo arm, you will get much more up travel than down (if the servo is mounted on top of the wing).

Man Seth that photo says alot, I can imagine the before pic..weew.. now youll have to come up with some awsome heroic story to tell the folks that dont know the real story.. but really the real story is good enough.. hope it heals up good and clear. as for tail twisting, I have a few extra rods bracing on my mx2 so ill let you know if i see twisting. my consern is the lack of support for the out ailiron counter balences.. if it come to it ill slot in a flat rod.. Seth you need to get a Hard Man logo under your avatar....

Mike, let us know what you see, but I have never had issues with tail twist in the air. I can tell pretty quickly when a plane has structural twist by the way it responds, especially in rolling, and I've never seen that with this plane. If I did, I would truss both sides of the tail! I'll let the other guys chime in but I don't think any of us have felt the need to add more bracing on this plane.
