RJ, I zoomed in on the pic of the "SUSPECTED" tail twist........... I honestly do not think it is twisting...... Both the ailerons and elevators are a touch blurred, but the fuse and background is all in focus...........

That DAMNED airplane is sooooo STUPID fast in all respects, that not even the HUBBLE telescope couldn't catch that thing in FOCUS!!!!

I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gotta have a couple........

can someone please explain the method of taping the motor on?
I currently own a FF Yak 55 and have an MX2 (and another Yak 55)coming and would like to
duplicate your methods of attaching the engine
Cheers

What exactly do you need to know Kia?

I just take the fiber reinforced tape, and cut it in about 2" x 1/4" pieces (4 total), and tape from the bottom of the horizontal fuse, around the fiberglass mount, to the top of the horizontal fuse (for both sides of the horizontal fuse), and from the left (or right) side of the vertical fuse (top and bottom) around the fiberglass mount to the opposite side of the vertical fuse.

Just make sure the tape sticks well, and there is no kicker or anything under it that won't allow it to stick to the foam, and you shouldn't have to even glue it.

This picture doesn't look bad at all, but I'm not gonna post the "before" pic. Its kinda nasty. Just really happy I still have both eyes!

Glad you're OK. I hate to sound like a wuss, but I was only about 50ft away from the spectator at the NEAT Fair a few years ago who did end up losing the vision in one eye. Now when we have heli time at our local indoor place, I head for the snack bar.

well i finally got started on her, one thing i like about ff planes is the way they go together so you can paint em as you build em. except the airbrush clogs up when i leave it sit for too long. i made that sick of it all dragon stensil so long ago and this is the first time i used it, it worked great. i cheated and brushed on my name though.

where exactly do you put the hinge tape for the aielerons? i put it in the whole v side and a little bit on top by the control horn, is that right?

where does this brace by the motor go that youse guys keep talkin bout go? got any pics?

Actually that's exactly opposite of how the hinging goes... you should tape the whole top of the hinge and just a small piece by the control horn on the bottom "V" side. The instructions show how that is done. They way you did it might work, but will likely make it very hard to get much throw...

The pictures in the manual also show the bracing near the motor. Basically it is one carbon rod from the landing gear at the leading edge to the lower vertical fuse, and then another piece from that point to the very front edge of the h-fuse where the motor mount is.
