As a note, you absolutely must use the 45 degree foam gussets on the nose for the motor-mount to glue to. There won't be enough glue area otherwise, and the nose on these can take some punishment from the forces of VPP.

Thanks guys for the help! I've got the VPP on the plane. When I was testing it I found that I barely have enough thrust (high enough pitch) for a normal hover but excess power for an inverted hover. Is there any reason why I might be getting more negative pitch than positive?

Assuming your throttle curve is set up right, it sounds like you need to back down your forward pitch. Or increase it... I'd have to listen to it. If it isn't screaming RPM in forward, chances are you need to back it off.

I think that the pitch is too low, the motor sounds a lot faster and has a noticeably lower pitch than negative. The problem is that I can't increase it, any suggestions?

Why can't you increase it? That's the only solution...

You can't increase it?

As in servo travel, or the pitch slider won't allow it to go any further?

If the pitch slider won't go any further, you have too much pitch. The Mamo unit can have much more forward pitch than needed.

If its servo travel, try repositioning your servo arm a gear in the positive direction, or going to a larger arm.

Also, when I set my pitch, I go from one extreme to another, and listen for the sound of the motor/prop.

At one point with too less pitch, you will hear the motor RPMs way up. Too much pitch and you hear prop noise more than the motor. You want the pitch to be set right at that crossover point between the two.

Chirs I am now showing some wood grain on my yak thanks to the B&E graphics,, not as cool as yours tho.. Im running out of room for stickers I should have bought the big redbull extra today.. oh well.. back on topic this mx2 rocks.. hahah

Hey Mike, I'm glad you're still enjoying it! The wind was dead this afternoon and I went out and put a few flights on my MX-2 in the front yard too. Man I need to fly it more often...

Be sure to let us know how the coupling is when you install the pants. Honestly I'm surprised you're having coupling issues without them... they are so small that they shouldn't have very much effect at all. But, having never tried an MX-2 without them, I can't say for sure. How bad is the coupling, and what does it do?

my old xcalibur had the same issue, It could also be an issue with not running the bent ailiron servo horn,, and maybe im noticing more movent to one side or the other, ill have to fly it some more to make a good judgement to what its actully doing. If I can get video I can see it better..

I tried reducing the pitch and that made a big improvement. I was flying but the pitch servo didn't have a screw in it a fell off along with the pitch arm on the VPP, I will have to order a new one. Again thank you both for the help.

No problem.

Like I said, you can generally hear the prop or motor. Need an even combination of the two.
