Yes, drag plates only slow the downlines down. They do nothing else for the airframe, really, except for make you fly at a higher power setting for straight and level flight......

Let's hope that Terry Hahn doesn't see these!!! He'll want 6!!!! HEHEHE!!!!!

hey Chris when i get a white one I will be doing a TEam GTO paint job, what ya think. this is later on. I think orange flames.. I can see the airbrakes not being used for freestyle for sure, just had to ask. no goodies yet..

sadly no. Efest might be fun if i can lock in the date. If the plane shows up tomarrow ill still be waiting for the rest of the goodies from the 4 other vendors hahah. any idea when efest is? i havent looked it up... oh just a question, how much effect or what purpus on a foamy do the spades do on the mx2?

Ah I see.

I think they moved EFest up to January this year. Should be a blast!

They don't have any effect. They're there to look cool. No actually, they help the roll rate out quite a bit, and I want to say they make it fly slightly more level, and less tail down. If you notice when you build yours, they're not parallel to the ailerons/wings. They have a slight bit of "positive incidence" if you will. I think RJ said this helps it fly more level, not sure. Maybe he'll chime in on it.

cool factor is always a plus, roll rate help.. with the size of those control surfaces hahaha! I did notice the tilt on the spades inthe videos i have seen. I cant wait to get mine built the wait is driving me nuts,, and i dont know if the motor shipped yet BAHHHH... I hope its a case of aeromodel not sending ship notices hahah.

HAHAH the idea i have involves the FU in FUN quote. and bright colors, itll be a while but i may get the foamy soon so i can get it made,, cause no tellign how long this mx2 will last hahah.

1. They look cool!
2. They counterbalance the ailerons and help the roll rate.
3. They act as small side force generators and stablize several areas of flight, especially knifeedge.
4. They do help the plane fly a little bit more level in upright flight
5. Did I mention they look cool?

sounds good to me!, got my props today haha the last thing i ordered.. stevens aeromodel is always fast. I am glad I ordered 15 props, these things feel super easy to break. more waiting begins. Since I am off today and the plane is going to work, I may see if it comes in there, but will see.

You had given me an idea on one as well!!!! Get an all white one, and get it to a guy I know who paints..... And just tell him Orange and Black!!!

What is the difference on the Diamond D47 and the D47S....I know it says the S is faster, is there any difference on the weight ? Anyone know anything about the D47S ?
