New Fancy Foam MX2 !!!

I actually just tack the parts together when assembling the foam parts. The tabs lock everything together pretty tightly, so I just put a tack of thin CA where every tab is. It should soak in and set everything well.

As Seth said, it just comes from experience.

ok, the reason I have been off line for so long,, I was trying to build this thing! got some done. It actully showed up to work yesterday but i was off haha. hope the motor and servos show up tomarrow.. I got # 1 heres a few pics, and showing it at rest for the night. just get one Chris...

only 2?? stop holding back. you know you want more... its amazing how expensive a tiny flat foamy can be, dang near glued my finger to the plane tongiht and then the plane to the desk haha,, wish there was an easier way to mount the LE spar.. curious has anyone landed a slide gear foamy on low carpet? that is what the big gym Ill be using has, very low carpet.. tho i think i have a way around this. not sure what ill get done over the next day or so with halloween stuff going on after work tomarrow and saturday. no big deal i want to make sure its still in one piece by the 11th ahah

My white version is here! Everything looks great! I have two Halloween parties to go to fri and Saturday, but I'll get it built on sunday:-) our first indoor gym night starts next Wednesday so I'll be sure to get some videos!

But I'll have new ones before ETOC!

If you really want to, you can actually take some of the GWS lite wheels (white S shaped spoked wheels) that come with some of Fancy Foam's other kits and actually take the skid and bend it inward towards the fuse, and slide a wheel on, then bend it back up vertically right after the wheel. This is if you really need wheels though.

Just a suggestion.

Mike, you may want to put wheels on it for carpet. I usually just throw and catch the plane, but the couple times I killed the battery at KIEF and had to land on the astroturf, the skids didn't incur any damage, but it won't exactly skid across that stuff.

Glad to see the first (literally Mike!) kits being built!

Sorry to change the subject here, but what APC prop are you running on your micro Suhkoi? How did you mount it to the prop shaft?

not sure what APC prop he has, but i am running a GWS 5x43 and for mounting, i bought 4mm to 1mm wooden adapter and glued it in the hub of the prop and it threaded right onto the SU26 prop shaft.

yep thats the one. huge difference from stocker, and you get prop to ground clearance. the gws number is 5043. no work on mx2 today but i did get my goodies! dang this hacker is tiny and has some killer strong magnets. halloween stuff tomarrow to, so ill maybe get it working sunday, but i hope to get out and fly my qq yak.. gotta try before the waether really gets stupid .. tho from the ways it raining i may need floats hah.

RJ, i will paint on a SN# kit 1 onthe wing haha its kinda cool having the first of something in production run of corse. after looking at the close control rod attachment points, is a really long servo horn really needed? the 3114s have fairly long horns included.. and i want barn doors hahah
