Default Just another hello!

Hi Guys, My name is Will, aka Airplanedude, aka AD.
I live in the Up-state NY Finger Lakes region, and have been into RC since I was 6 years old.
I just turned 14, and am looking into joining the wonderful world of competion IMAC/Freestyle aerobatics.

My first flight was in Columbus Ohio at the WMAA field with my Grand-Father.
I have since gotton the airplane bug, started flying with my local club hear in Up-State NY, then I started to transition into radio control cars and boats, and really didn't care for them, so I am regaining my main interest in the hobby.

I went to an IMAC competion in Ohio at WMAA field, and was blown away by how fun it could be, and the free-style just plain astounded me. I have always flown sport 40 sized airplanes and never really got exposed to te next level of the hobby until a few years ago, and I never saw it in person until early this year.

So if any-one has any sort of tips of what I can do to get into competion, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks guys!

haha, thanks man!

I once heard that Frank Noll teached 3-d aerobatics, what you do is give him 100 dollars, he will take it, then give it back to you, and tell you that it takes 100 dollars worth of GAS, and PRACTICE.

Glad to have you with us!

The best competition advice is to burn a LOT of gas practicing! Fly til it all becomes muscle memory!

As you get involved in IMAC and want to look towards a nice competition machine, give us at Aerotech a holler! We look forward to more of "Tomorrow's Who's Who" building and flying our airplanes!

Good luck and happy flying!

And as for imac contests if you do them, i'll see ya next year possibly! You'll find tons of usefull advice on here! And like the other guys have said, Burn some gas and you'll be good to go! Hey, thanks for the welcomes guys!

I plan to start burning the gas once I get something to burn the gas on though!

I'm looking mainly at the 50cc market. (there is only so much a kid can do, y'know?)

Right now, I am trying to sell/trade stuff on RCU to fund the airplane, what the heck, I'll post the links!

Do you have any suggestions on any airplanes that would be a good start for IMAC/Freestyle?
I am also mainly looking for used, so, how used do you think I should go? Less than 100 flights/5gallons? Right now, new is off the charts!

I would mainly be looking for RXR planes.

Any-ways enough blah, blah, you can bet that you will see me there next year! (one way or another)
