Default Aresti Question

When the Aresti diagram calls for a roll maneuver, does it matter which direction the roll takes place? Same thing for snaps or spins. thanks.

No, only if it shows an arrow in one direction and then another in a different direction, then the initial direction doesn't matter but the subsequent roll must be in the opposite direction. Same goes for snaps.

Or, if there are 2 lines that are in the same direction then the 2 rolls must be in the same direction.

But only on the same line.

If you have an upline with a roll, the downline roll doesn't have to go the same or opposite direction.

What the other responders is true, in terms of roll elements on a line, same direction or opposite. But the only time the absolute direction of a roll is assigned is in Family Two figures, rolling turns. In this case the Aresti tell you the correct direction of the roll, and the order they must be done in, this would be either rolls into the inside of the turn, outside of the turn or combinations of both. In the case opposite rolls in a turn the Aresti would also tell you what direction is first.
