Hey everyone,

Its time to start looking at dates for our 2010 contests. If your are a CD of an existing contest (one we had in 2009) you have first dibs on your same weekend in 2010.
If your looking to change your dates, you must look for an open weekend and request that.
If you are a CD looking to have a new contest in 2010 you get to pick from open weekends that
1- Were not used in the previous season.
2- A weekend that did have a contest in the previous season but that weekend has been given up by the previous CD.

We can have two events during the same weekend as long as they are 500 miles apart.

As you can see its important that existing contests get their dates set early so everyone else can find something after that.

Toby Silhavy's contest was on the 2009 schedule but he had to cancel his event last minute due to work commitments. I thinks its only fair that he gets that same weekend again if he wants.

Marian has already announced the dates for the 2010 Judging seminar.

Any idea yet of how many 3 day contests there will be next season/where?

Do you mean two day contest with Friday open for practice if you can make it?

I don't know if anything has been firmed up yet, but the contest director's of both the Effingham and Hamilton, Ohio contests were talking about making their contest a three day event. Effingham is traditionally held over Labor Day weekend and the Hamilton, Ohio contest is typically the third weekend in June.

Dan, No. Actually a 3 day contest.

That would be fun, but difficult for some to get the time off.
Maybe we should put a poll up on the NC web site just to get a feel of who thinks they actually make a three day contest. Personally, I would love to do it but know I couldn't get the time off but thats probably just me.

Their weekend falls on the same weekend as Clover Creek. He was maybe looking at a change of date.

The only other one considering it is Ric for the Hamilton Contest.
