I got in to building foam 3d planes a few months before the original ikarus shock flyers hit the market. Well this new AR640 stuff has got the be the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. And so I had to try it, so I traded someone for a Parkzone suhkoi and built one. The first one I used everything off the suhkoi and it flow good but would not 3d. on the left is ready to fly with a 2g brushless outrunner. its got a 15in wing span and I think it’s around .8oz. if you build one don’t use the 2g outrunner its only rated for a 3in prop and that’s just not enough. The one on the right is my next one when i get the new motor. it’s a brushless 5.4g outrunner rated to have 2.4oz of thrust on a 1cell lipo. The yak is 16in wing span and I guessing it going to end up about 1.5oz. this link is the motor I’m using on the bigger one.
http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...ro_Motor_(5.4g) AND ESC. http://hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store...d_Controller__ Am I the only one doing this? If you have some ideas or planes plans anything. LET SEE THEM. |

About the only thing 3D going on in my living room is the storing of electrics there! I did have a Blade heli zooming around until I annoyed the cat once too often..... You ever see a cat with feathers sticking out of the corner of it's mouth? You should see one with a heli fuse and blades sticking out of the mouth of a 23 pounder! LOL! Sic 'em Tiger!

Get some video. I did a micro 3D plane last winter. 16" 1oz RTF I used to have a video of it flying in my living room but I cant find it. I'll keep looking.

Not a kit. It started out as scaled down plans for a 32" foamy.
Thats the 3rd version of things I tried and changes I made to it to make it fly as good as it does. The scheme was airbrushed by Gary Pierson. Im not sure what paint he uses. Video from Efest last year:

The paint that I used is Createx. You can find it at places like Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

This has got me interested. What RX, Batts, servos do you use for this? Flyboyz43 knows I now have my own flying gym.
