Default 28% WH Extra 300

Not a dumb thumb, but an extremely aggro day to say the least. Took the Extra out for a few flights.

On my final, I did a go around because I didnt feel right about the landing. Came around, approached, and touched. As soon as my main gear touched the ground, airplane dead stoped, gear ripped out, spinner hit grass, and pushed firewall in over an inch. Myself as well as my spotter jsut looked at each other with the *** face.

Walk out, and low and behold there was a 6-6.5 inch deep sink hole that was about 2 foot round. Would you beleive that of all places to land, my gear had to land right inside of an un noticable hole from the flight line?

No pics to show, but aggro wasnt the word for it.

That stinks. I have the W/H Edge and last weekend I had a wheel come off and didn't see it, same result as you had.

Wasnt too please. But I was going to recover the plane over the winter. Then after the accident, I was going to chalk it up. But I love how it flies. So now, it gives me more of a reason to strip the covering, lighten it up a bit because it is a bit on the heavy side, and start the covering.

I am thinking I am going to go White, with a lime green strip down the sides of the fuse, and lime curved accents on the wings / Elevators. I was also thinking about moving the elevator servos into the elvator halfs. Not sure about having enough room though.

Maybe I will start posting before and afters on this thread.

Hi flatspin sorry to hear of your mishap.Have you tried putting fuel tubing on the end of your axle. This works well in case wheel colar comes loose.
