Man Hitec just keeps coming out with new stuff and is pushing technology. Cant wait to give the new tail servo. Mike can the new tail servo handle 6.0 volts?

Here's a pic.
This is from the servo 7990 servo or just a random pic?

I got a chance to talk with Hitec at this years government UAV conference in Washington DC and learned about the magnetic encoders but assumed they were just for high end robotic applications. Great job Hitec on bringing this new technology to the hobby world! no more potentiometer wear!

This is the actual M.E. from the 7990 sample we have.

Mike, Please! Is there any kind of estimated release date for this bad boy - HS-7990TH?
And one for the Hitec suggestion box… Since a lot of us are now running 7.4v Unregulated Two cell LiPo systems and, it looks like it’s all headed that way. I would like to see a relatively low cost, Low to Medium Torque, Digital, High Volt Servo to operate Throttle, Choke and other applications that do not require a massive servo. It’s kind of a bummer to have to regulate part of your system or have to equip your Throttle & Choke with $100.00+ Servos. Any Thoughts?
Thanks!
Paul…

It shouldn't need a voltage regulator if it is rated to handle a lipo.

We all know how to fix the problem! Just wish I did not have too! Less systems on an Airplane is better, Right???? Less is more...........

Everyone agrees that bigger airplanes need more powerful servos. We started out many years ago with servos that were about twice as big as today's with about 15 in oz of torque. These servos mounted on roughly a 2" by 1" foot print with the normal rubber grommet vibration dampeners. Today, most of us have servos with 100 to 200 in oz of torque mounted on 1.3" X .7" foot prints. The next generation is here and certainly needed as the planes get ever larger. So now --- some of us will have 500 to 600 in oz of torque mounted on a foot print "slightly" larger then our 100 to 200 in oz servos.

My point here is how are we going to keep these monsters in the same position relative to the flying surface they are controlling while they merrily rock and roll about on their rubber grommets, positioned on such a small foot print? Simply put, they don't now with 200 in oz and they certainly will not with 500 in oz. Currently only the IMAC guys would see this phenomena with inconsistent rudder trim. With 45 to 55 percent airplanes I think you will see it on all the flying surfaces.

The solution is simple and elementary. Either the servo manufacturers or the kit/ARF providers will have to start addressing it. Assuming servos will continue to need vibration isolation, the best way to minimize the effects of the rubber isolators on neutral centering is to spread out the mounting points. I have tried to address this problem but the response from the Giant Scale community , or any other community for that matter, has been less than enthusiastic. However, it looks like time is on my side.

Are those servos screwed to your mount solid or do they have the usual rubber grommets??

Sorry, I should have been more explicit, the servos set down onto little drilled and tapped pegs that are .002 smaller than the ID of the servo case mounting tabs. I guess we would be taking a step in the wrong direction otherwise

I can not wait to use just one HS-7990TH for a Pull Pull Rudder Servo! And not have a bunch of Gadgets, Dohickys and extra weight to gang up Servos! I just wish I knew when it was going to hit the market ? Mike??
