Default Hopefully simple question - Rotating DA50 carb 180 degrees

I'm building an Extereme Flight 88" Extra 300 and they advide that if using a DA50 the carb needs to be rotated 180 degrees and to contact DA for instructions on how to do this...

It seems straight forward enough but thought I'd ask before blindly going ahead so that I can hopefully avoid any potential problems...

It seems there are 2 ways I could do this;
1) Rotate the carb only and use a longer vent line between the carb and the carb spacer block. I didn't see any air passages/holes in the gaskets between the carb and the spacer so this seem it would be OK and from the picture in the instructions (not very good) it looks like this is what Extreme Flight did...

2) Rotate both the carb and the spacer 180 degrees and simply re-install them... Again this looks like it should be OK and seems to be the simplest solution.... This also might change the orientation of the reed valve in relation to the engines intake but with a rear carb this "seems" like it shouldn't be a problem???

So is one way better than the other or am I simply worrying about nothing?

Thanks for your help..

Reed valve orientation wont be a problem but you need the line up the pulse hole in the carb with the one in the case or it wont draw fuel.

Oh never mind I just remembered it has a hose for the pulse in the bottom of the carb

Option 1.
Be careful to not over tighten the mounting bolts.

Ok, thanks, option #1 it is..

Just to satisfy my curiosity... What about option 2 might cause issues... It seems the reed block is symetrical. The pulse port is a hose... Couldn't find any vent holes to not line up... What did I miss?? Not trying to be argumentative just trying to understand the details...

Thanks to all that replied
