Yes,

They are rated at 50 psi and they are soft now from sitting so long. I like being able to change the pressure to get just the right pressure for landing. It will help keep it from bouncing. I can use my same air compressor for them that I use for the retracts. I just change the nozzle.

Well they won!!! My big fat Mother in law and my sweet little wife who does everything her mom tells her decided to take back the garage. Which with a huge fight on my side allowed me to keep a portion of the garage for my shop. About 1/5th of it. Luckily it's a huge garage. The Beast "Mother in law" said she wanted her van and my wifes car inside for the Winter. That was fine for my wifes car but my mother in law doesn't work and never leaves the house so why her van. BTW my mother in law moved in for a short stay while she got back on her feet after my Father in law divorced her because he couldn't stand the sight anymore. That was 5 years ago. She still isn't on her feet and weighs about 300+ lbs so with her not paying for food you could imagine how much we spend for food to keep the feed bag on her all day long so she grows and grows. Plus everything is wrong with her and I told her to lose weight to feel better and you don't want to know what that lead to. Thanks for letting me vent my anger on here!!! Her is what is left of my shop in the garage.

Barry

Maybe I could ca her mouth shut!!!!

I tried the Dust routine before when my shop in the garage was smaller. NO GO!!! I heard heres some money go get them washed. Or be cut off and you know the end of that story. I can't say anything to my MIL or the wife does the same thing. Flips on the cut of SWITCH. Another NO GO!!! I have learned the best way is bite my lip whats left of it.

This so reminds me of a guy whose MIL moved in. SHE paid for his outbuilding to get all the plane stuff outta the house !

He has signs on his back door directing modeling visitors to the outbuilding. He has a living room set up in it and every morning he just walks out there and fires up the TV and starts piddling with his models. Comes in for meals.

I think he loves the new arrangement !!

Today I worked on my wing joiners. I figured out where they needed to be drilled so they wouldn't interfere with the ribs on the LE of the main spar where the washer and nut will be. Plus the modified 1/4" aircraft ply ribs for the retracts. The original # 5 and 6 ribs will be cut out in front of the main spar to make room for the large gear. I ended up having to use 6-32 1/2" long tapered allen head bolts so the spars could slide through them. Getting all the heads just even with the surface took me sometime but now that part is done. I'm still waiting on the rest of my laser cut parts so I can build the outer panels first before I build the center section. I don't want to drill into the main spar until I see how the angle is going to be. I also want to drill them on my drill press when it is figured out for accuracy. More pictures soon.

Not to be off topic, but on the garage thing. No one goes in my garage unless directed by me. My Wife has tried to put things in it, and they either end up in the trash, rafters, or her craft room. Anyways awesome build looking forward to it.

I have begun working on my cowl plug. It is extra long so I can build in the cooling flaps and that way I won't have to add them later. I will be using florist foam for the nose cone and then make molds seperate for the scoops and glass them onto the finished cowl. It will be between 13.5" to 14" long when completed.

I didn't quit!!! I have been working on my cowl plug now since my last post. I also took on another build project. I am building a Ziroli 94" P-40 D Warhawk. I recieved a Zenoah G-62 for free from a friend because it needed work so I rebuilt it from the ground up. It will go in the P-40. I had to build something around it. I can't stand engines just lying around collecting dust. I'll be dividing my time between the two projects. I will start a build thread on here soon. Anyway here is how far I've gotten on the plug. It is way to long but I am going to incorporate the cooling flaps onto the plug and after the nose cone is in place I'll know where they should start for it to be 13.5" overall length. It wont be tapered but this is my first attemp at even making a plug so I guess it will still look ok. Someone else with one slightly smaller than mine didn't taper his and it looked great so I think it will do.

Since it's winter here in Wisconsin and to cold to sand outside I have put the cowl plug on hold. I talked to Pat at Laser Cut USA yesterday and he said my modified wing ribs and tips will be shipped next week. I will start back on the Monster then. I have been filling my time building the 94" Ziroli P-40 while I wait.

I gave up on the cowl for now because it needs to much sanding for an enclosed area. I was supposed to get my modified outer wing panel rib parts today but they didn't come yet. When they do I'll be starting to build the wing.
