Problems with mi Hitec Servos in the 31% EDGE
Hi,
I'm just going through the first time setting my new EDGE 540 31% and I have been suffering with my Hitec servos HS985MG and HS925MG. This is my configuration: - Futaba 10CA - Reciever R6014FS - SmartFly Power Expander EQ6P 8 channels - 2 Fromeco 2600mh NiMh - Throttel servo HS-965MG - Elevator and Wing(2x) servos HS-985MG - Rudder servos HS5955 I have problems with the throttel, elevator and wing servos that start making noice when you move it. Rdder servos are working fine. At the beginning I thought it was a problem of voltage. I checked that the smartfly was providing 6.00v to the servos. Also change the voltage to 5.5 with no luck. I also connect the servo directly to the receiver and the problem persist. Also checked with another receiver PCM with 4.8v battery and same problem. I bought those servos during different periods 2008 and 2009. All are brand new and is the first time I used them. The initial ones that I bought are 06.06 version and the newest ones are 07.08 but have the same problem. Any clue were to start ? Thanks. Gustavo put the plane upside down and let us know if the servos make the same noise.

what kind of noise ,a buzzing,humming or gear growling,some new hitec servos are noisy but work fine

Hello guys, thanks for answer.
Looks to me that is more buzzing that any other noice. Gears are working fine. Bellow two short videos I took one of the HS985MG elevator servo and the second is the HS965MG high speed throttel servo buzzing. Any idea ? Thanks, Gustavo. |

The throttle servo sounds like the carby is against the stop and the servo it still trying to push it further open. Try reducing the travel some what.
The other one sounds ok to me.

Most of my 965s, and 985s that I've had did the same thing, from what I remember.
