Unless you have been sleeping under a rock, you know that FG member Bob "Sensei" Sawyer loves BIG, no...I should say HUGE airplanes. As the designer/builder of the first HUGE aerobatic RC plane the 70% Staudacher S-300 Bob has been at this for a quite some time.
Lately Bob's focus has been on lightening airframes, and making them fly like giant foamies. We saw threads from Bob on a 40% Carden build that ended up as a sub 30 lb rocket. We saw a Hangar 9 35% Extra 260, re-construction which shaved several pounds off of it. Bob also started an 80% Extra 260 that he is still working on and hopefully will finish someday soon. But right now, Bob has been focused on his latest project. A 55% Extra 260 with a wingspan of 164", a length of 144" and will be light enough to be a rocket with only a DA 170cc!! To add to the cool factor of this project, it looks like the plane may be kitted by the new owners of Aerotech models! So, all you guys drooling over this build, save your pennies, you could possibly own one of these bad boys soon! SO.. if you did not see this amazing build, please take a look, if you have been following it, let Bob know your thoughts! It's creative and talented people like Bob that push the hobby into new grounds, and benefit us all. THANKS BOB! PLEASE KEEP AT IT! To read the entire thread click below! 55% Extra 260 Thread

It's true! We ARE kitting this bird! Bob has been working dilligently with Kevin Walker of Aerotech to get this one to YOUR BUILDING TABLE! It will be to market shortly after Bob's Proto flies. I'll make sure Kevin gets on here and "tells all" about this amazing project....
Glad to see the coverage for Sensei. This dude deserves it! Matt Mikesh

That is VERY IMPORTANT! Nice call!
This plane will need NO waiver to fly and will safley and soundly fly with the equipment that most of us are putting on our 42%'ers!
